Printer asking to Load tray before each print job

Hello! My problem is that I have a HP Laserjet 4050 connected by a network. However, since the past week, after a print command is given, I need to go to the printer and press 'go' as an answer to 'Tray 1 Load Plain Letter' and once again to answer 'Use Plain A4 instead' and only then would the document print. The printer is showing a 'Toner Low' message, though it seems to be printing fine and in the past, I've never faced this issue when the toner has finsihed.
It doesn't sound like a printer problem. Someone probably changed a software setting and it's confusing the printer as to what it should print. Has nothing to do with the low toner message.

When you print a config page, it will show what type of paper the printer thinks is in the tray. If this does not agree with what's actually in the tray, you either have a broken stop in the tray or the tray sensor switch PCB in the printer is bad. This is the case ONLY if the printer config(not the software) doesn't match what you have in the tray.

Well, I guess, better 3 years late than never.

To fix this annoying problem, use the Menu on your HP LaserJet printer (or use HP Web JetAdmin if you have it installed on an admin PC) as follows:

1. Cycle through the menus until you see Printing Menu.
2. In the Printing Menu, cycle through the items until you see 'Override A4/Letter=NO'.
3. Hit the Select button to change this to a YES.

This should fix it.

Thanks Shivram! It took 3 years for the answer and another 8 months for me to find it! (Well, a few minutes on Google actually). Works a treat!
