HP C6380 Printhead problem

I've been having problems with my printhead on my photosmart c6380. I put a CIS system on to it and following this the printhead failed. It was fine before.

I have tried all the troubleshooting tips I could find (on hp website mainly)

I was wondering if there was anything you could suggest to get the old printhead working again as they no longer make them. (The printer is two yrs old) It hasn't been overly used. The odd photo collection and some uni essays!

Bought a CIS as just started new job in childcare and need to print photos and Ob's daily meaning lots of ink use.

Was thinking maybe I have just flooded the printhead? Any help muchly appreciated.

Thanks in advance :)

Don't know what you mean by it failed. The aftermarket ink might have clogged it. You can just remove the printhead and dunk it in really hot water for a minute and then blot it dry with a paper towel.

Sorry by failed I mean the following message keeps coming up:

- Printhead problem Remove all cartridges. Next lift gray latch and remove printhead. Then reinstall printhead and cartridges.

It wont allow me to print or use the other functions such as scan/copy at all. - unknown
You could try cleaning the contacts on the printhead and the ones in the printer with a cotton swab and alcohol. Other than that, you'll need to replace the printhead. They ain't cheap.
