Hp HP LaserJet 5000

Offending command 'get' error

I have an HP LaserJet 5000 with a new formatter and 164 mgs. of RAM. We print Quark pages that contain .eps images exported from the same application and same OS (Mac OS 9.2).

When I print those pages, the printer produces an Offending Command error. Text will print but any .eps images/files do not.

The error which prints on those pages is as follows:

--------------

ERROR: undefined
OFFENDING COMMAND: get

I don't know what to do. Please help?? Thanks!
OK, so I've reset the HP LaserJet 5000 back to factory settings and updated the firmware version from 29.13 to 29.20.

I get the same "get" error every time.

So it seems I can print these Mac OS Quark pages but the associated .eps files seem to be the problem.

I can print the same pages without any problems to our HP LaserJet 8100, 8550 and 9000.

So I'm lost about what to check next.

Check the firmware again. I had this same problem with a HP 5000. The way and the only way I could fix this problem was to replace the formatter board. With the 5000 you can not update the firmware on the 5000. And the only firmware that will work Mac is 3.8 and 3.76. I hope this helps.

Ugh . . . that's the second formatter I've replaced. OK, so back to the drawing board. BEWARE of remanufactured printers people! - jkeelan
Sorry Bro!
