hp clj 1600 51.22 error

I hope you can help me. I have an hp clj 1600, it's only 7 months old and I use it mostly for b/w text. It only has a total of 600 pages but I'm getting a 51.22 error. I have turned it off and on, I unplugged it from the surge protector. That worked for a couple of pages but now the error is back. Any suggestions????
Sounds like it's still in warranty, so call HP for repair or replacement.

You won't be able to fix the problem unless you want to replace parts, it's a hardware failure, Laser/Scanner I think.

I can replace parts if I have too, I'm just not sure what parts to replace. I can't find info on this error message. Thanks - Anonymous
51.22 is a magenta laser/scanner problem. Only advice is if the unit is plugged into a surge protector, remove the cord and plug directly into a wall socket. The laser/scanners are not replaceable parts for this printer and the complete engine will have to be replaced. In other words the complete printer on exchange. Hope you are still under warranty. HP does off printer exchange when out of warranty with return of the old unit so you may want to check with them on pricing if out of warranty.
