Hp HP Color LaserJet 2550L

Error Code on Hp Color LaserJet 2550L

About a little over a month ago, I installed the hp Color LaserJet 2550L printer on my computer. Since then, I've had issues with it not printing correctly or having the orange attention light flash, telling me that the printer was out of memory. To fix this problem, I would have to uninstall and then reinstall all the associated software that came with this printer and lower the resolution of the images I was trying to print.

Today, like any other time when I go to print, I turned on the printer and waited until the normal green (ready) light was on. I then sent it a print job (in this case, a windows printer test page), and it reported through the hp toolbox software the following error code: 52: SCANNER ERROR. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN????

And how can I get it to print again. The attention light, ready light, and go light are all lite. Help please!!!!!!!!!

A scanner error means the laser scanner has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

It could also be a DC controller failure, but the scanner is the most likely culprit.

could this also be my problem. I receive the three non binking lights go (green) ready (green) and caustion (red). One this the previous person did not mention. When I turn on the printer it does not go through the cycle. Also, I can not advance the toner carousel. I have turn the printer off, unpluged it from power, reconnected it the cables and it still won't go through the light cycles. and it still won't advance the tones? - vivian rayford
Can you advance it by releasing the toner brake on the carousel

No, how do I release the toner brake on the carousel? - vivian rayford
Laser scanner issue. Replace the laser scanner. If that doesn't fix it. Replace the dc controller. Only parts related with this issue.

I have a new HP LaserJet 2550L and when printing pictures with a light or white backgroung I get a lot of lines across the picture. I have tried all the different settings and paper combinations and it seems to lessen with settings that print faster but they don't go away.

Anybody else getting this or hav any suggestions on how to fix it.

I have an HP 2550n that will flash the error code lights about once a week. If I shut it off and turn if back on, it will work fine for a while. Don't know if it is network or printer problems.

to aerojock :
this problem could be with the type of paper, verify that the ream said something like "Color laserjet"
also you can perform a calibration by pressing the button to rotate the carousel and the green button at the same time, do this process at least 3 times on a row.

to rwilliford:
can be more specific? the main cause could be many things...

I had a paper jam and pulled the paper out the back exit. Since then the three error lights have been on. I got them changed from blinking to steady on. I've turned off, unplugged, let it rest, etc., and nothing helps. I need to get it going again.

Carousel brake is on the top right. You'll have to take the cover off to access it. Once you get the cover off, a small flat blade screwdriver inserted under the solenoid plate to lift it, will release the carousel.
