Can anyone tell me which printead 107 SERVICE PRINTHEAD ERROR refers to, black - cyan - magenta or yellow?

Thanks in advance

Error Code(s) Printhead Color

106, 111, 115, 171, 172 Cyan
107, 112, 116, 173, 174 Magenta
108, 113, 117, 175, 176 Yellow
109, 110, 114, 169, 170 Black

Power off the printer, take the Magenta cartridge out, take a lint and dust-free cloth or tissue and clean the hysinc mirror and the printerhead lens. I just did it and it took me three minutes to clean with toilet paper rolled up like a cigarette.
My printer is back on line. The hysinc mirror and printerhead lens is in the printer not on the magenta cartridge. Reinstall the print cartridge and power on. This has happened to me before with a different color.

here is the Lexmark c750 support link:
http://support.lexmark.com

I hope this helps

I can't seem to find my error anywhere on the Net and so far Lexmark as failed to response to my support emails to them.

We have a C750n and the LCD reads "171 service Motor Error" any chances someone know what this means and the recommended service.

Thanks,

Quote from the Lemark Manual:

Tray x Not Calibrated - This message will be displayed when a tray has been detected that is uncalibrated. This message usually means a user-correctable NVRAM problem or the tray was not calibrated at the factory or needs to be calibrated.

Or in plain english you need to go into the hidden menu (Hold down GO & RETURN and turn on the power) go looking for RESET NVRAM, it should be in there somewhere!! Good luck

Hi Mark,

My name 's Luís and I'm sending this mail from Portugal. I've got a LEXMARK C750 and I'm getting the following error:

- 183 Service / PSD error.

Appreciatte if you can help.
Thank you.
by unknown on Feb 4, 2004 at 1:52am Add comment
The 183 error can be caused by two problems.

1. Sensor Failure (See extract from manual below)

183 PSD Error PSD Sensor error (Yellow) - Replace the Yellow PSD Sensor Assembly.

Note: It is necessary to remove the Printhead Assembly to access the PSD Sensor Assembly, therefore it is necessary to perform the Printhead adjustments.

2. Engine Code Error.

Some of the older engine codes gave PSD errors, but you cannot upgrade the engine code until you get the printer displaying READY.

The part number for the PSD Sensor is 12G6523.

If you require the service manual then drop me a line as it’s 8.6Mb!!

Quote from the service manual:

1 Error Codes 150 and 156. These error codes indicate that the Black Cartridge Drive Motor has either failed to lock or has lost lock. Check the Black Cartridge Drive Motor Cable connection to J64 on the Engine Board. Is the cable installed correctly?

2 Check the Black Cartridge Drive Motor Cable connection to the Black Cartridge Drive Motor card. Is the Cable installed Correctly?

3 Check continuity of the Black Cartridge Drive Motor Cable. Is there continuity?

4 Replace the Black Cartridge Drive Assembly. Does this fix the problem?

5 Replace the Engine Board. Does this fix the problem?

Quite a lot to check, but I think your engine board has blown :o(

Hey, I recently had to replace the fuser and image transfer belt on my c750. The only problem is that now I'm getting a tray 1 uncalibratied error, but the printer will still print with it uncalibrated. When I go to calibrate it, it gives me the follwing message.

"910 Service
Trans Sensor"

I've been looking for information on what and where that is, but I haven't been having much luck. Could you please help me?

The transparency sensor in tray 1 is faulty, I have seen this before with exactly the same result as you. Either you can continue using the printer or replace the sensor (part no 12G6474) but be warned, it's a bugger to replace. If you need instructions on how to fit the new unit please drop me a line. Good luck!

After I replaced the magenta drum, the printer fails to print any magenta.
I tried two drums now, bith the same problem.

The printer indicated that the drum is 100\% full.
But no magenta at all at the paper.

There is no error message.

Quoting " Error is a 902 engine error code, what is this, besides an engine error"

Yeah - it is an engine error - in particular an unrecoverable s/w error according to the manual. Engine replacement is unfortunately the only option. I have heard of powering the pritner off and on fixing the issue, but no gaurantee

You need to replace the psd sensor this requires you to remove the black laser assy replace and\\or clean the psd sensor and refit the black laser assy you then need to align the lasers, unless you know what your doing get a techy to do it for you more because it’s a pain to mess about aligning lasers.

You have a yellow tmc switch failure not seen this fault so all I can do is advise you to check the toner make sure its not missing any of the gears, do a motor detect and you may need to replace the cart drive assy. Firmware update could resolve fault.

I just replaced 3 out of 4 of my toner cartridges(waiting on the black to arrive) and have most of the "noise" fixed in my printing but I'm still getting some ghosting in the CMY colors and I get a black vertical smudge/streak on the left side of my pages that is there sometimes and not others.

I also replaced the ITU assembly on it.

I'm also getting a lot of magenta when I do a demo print and I suspect that I may have screwed up the toner darkness or something when I was messing around in the diagnostic menus several months ago(it's been sitting a while so I forget everything I did), is there an easy way to reset to factory defaults? I can't seem to find the NVRAM reset so I don't know if that will fix it or not at this point.

I'm mostly assuming that my ghosting is either heavy toner or I may need to re-replace my fuser(I already swapped it for a spare I had a few months back but that may have been the bad one). Is there anything else to look out for?

I have several issues occurring right now with my C752 Lexmark printer.

First is that it is now resetting itself quite often and displaying a message saying it is performing a self test. Another related issue is that when I try to print a page it will often get to the point of engaging the paper feed from the tray and then suddenly start a self test without printing the page. Additionally, at times it will start a print cycle, but not feed the paper and go to the self test or go immediately to a series of diamond shaped icons across the panel display that seem to be some sort of glitch or error. All this started right around the time I replaced the cyan and magenta cartridges.

An earlier problem that seems to be separate from the above is that it will not currently print the colors of a photographic image correctly. This started when I replaced the yellow cartridge. It will print a test sheet where any non-photographic text or box will give a clear cmyk color. (I made a test page for this with a box for each color and text for each color.)

As it stands, right now the printer is virtually useless as it will only occasionally print a page without repeatedly turning off and restarting the printer. Even then the printer may or may not throw itself into the self test or odd icon display as described above.

Last, I will need to replace the ITU as it is damaged on one side and leaves streaks down the page of the first ten or more sheets printed. I would appreciate any advice on places to get the least expensive parts available.

I just changed the Fuser in my C752 Printer - As per the manual's instructions I need to access the config menu to reset the fuser count (I currently get the 80 Fuser Maintenance Error) - this is normally done by powering on the printer whilst holding down the setup + return buttons...

This does not work for me. I follow the instructions exactly and release the buttons when the LCD says 'Performing Self Test'.. but instead of then showing the config menu, the printer just keeps on with the self test saying Busy - Fuser Maintenance' then the Error 80 comes up again.. HELP!

Any ideas?

Thanks

by unknown on Sep 29, 2011 at 2:34am Add comment
@vcorban Sounds like bad power supply. Performing self test & diamonds is indicative of the printer is resetting itself, possibly when the fuser starts to warm overloads the suspected bad power supply. Could be the fuser or RIP as well...

Re: dark streak on the left side of page. This is a bad ITU. If you perform a calibration from the printer menu you see the next few pages show the streak. The calibration drops a band of toner on the ITU, corresponding to the left side of the printed page, and then senses the density of said toner. The issue is the eraser in your ITU is no longer operative.

The maintenance parts in the C750/C752 are quite finicky. I would only buy brand new ITU from a reputable vendor. I've bought "new" surplus ITU that were sitting around for a few years and found them to be defective. It seems ITU have a certain shelf life, even if you call Lexmark they will not warrant it in this case! Figure about $500-600 for a new, non-surplus ITU. I would evaluate the costs because if you aren't printing high volumes you might break even by buying a new machine for approx the price of an ITU.

@Bruce: Should be select+return for the customer menu and go+return for the technician menu. Normally fuser reset is only in customer menu.

Note: Do not adjust or replace any printhead before performing checks in “Printhead diagnostics”

It requires special tools so call your local Lexmark ASP.

Turn the printer off, insert the ITU, and turn the printer back
on.

If that doesnt work then try annother ITU.

There is an ongoing issue with that error message. I have 38 similar printers on my site and it seems that the error "30 ITU Missing" can come up without the ITU being bad, or not in place. I have been working with tech support and they have no answer for this. I have tried 3 different ITU's and the error still comes up. Chances are the locking mechanism associated with the gray arm, is bad, or the connector. - Anonymous

If you press go you should be able to continue caused generally by defective print cart or ITU you might just need to give this unit a clean if dirty
