HP 6P Problem

When the document is ready to print, the printer "wakes up", and then should pull in the paper ... but the paper only gets to maybe the edge where it should start printing. It's almost as though the paper is not being pulled through. This happens whether I try to use the paper tray, or the manual feed.

Any quick fixes to this problem?

Marshall

Is it making it as far as the little arm that
sticks up just past the foam roller?

One of our staff has managed to get a transparency jammed inside the machine. It appears to have rolled itself completely round the one of the rollers at the back. I can see the ends of it but can't get a grip on it. I've managed to get the cover off but I'm still unable to reach the transparency. It looks like I may have to dismantle the machine further but I'm not sure where to start. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks,

I remember answering this one somewhere. I remember the name because I know a Gary Love, but I don't think he comes from the UK. Anyway, you'll have to pull out the fuser assy. There is a cover on the back of it. You push on the plastic latch on the right side, slide it to the right and pivot the left side off and out. There are 4 screws holding the fuser in. The fuser slides out. It is held together by the 2 springs. Be very careful removing the transparency as the mylar film roller under it is very delicate. We do have replacement rollers if you damage it. They are expensive.
