printer won't boot - stuck on status bar

Hi there, my printer will not boot up - every time i turn it on it gets halfway through a status bar and stops there. Any ideas? thanks!

It's probably the formatter board (board the network and USB ports are on just inside the right side cover), you can search Ebay for used ones and decide if it's worth replacing the board or the machine. These models had some issues with the boards but not as bad as the other models around that time.

First try a NVRAM reset, it'll wipe all settings back to factory and wipe the network settings if you have it setup that way but replacing the formatter board will do that also. Hold down the Right Arrow and Cancel buttons as you turn on the machine and wait for display to say NVRAM Initialization and let go, hopefully it boots up all the way if not its a bad formatter.

I always try baking the formatter boards in the oven first. That reflows the cracked solder connections. Does not cost anything and can't make it worse.
