Apple Apple LaserWriter 360

LaserWriter Select 360 won't print - any idea why??

Hello Moe and other printer experts,
I have an Apple LaserWriter Select 360 that has suddely stopped printing from both Mac & PC. On the Mac I get error -50. The PC does all the dialogue box routine but nothing happens. Since the printer is connected by serial cable it can't be a cable issue.

The Mac 'sees' the printer through the chooser, and in setup bu twon't print to it.

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?? Thanks!

You don't mention whether it does a start up page. You can initiate a test page by turning it off and changing the selector in back to 4. Turn it on and it should do a test page. Also let us know if you get any kind of blinking or steady idiot lights on the display.

Hello Mo - I can print the test page - looks great - and have no idiot lights.

Any other ideas?

Kind of strange that it sees it in the chooser and won't print. I had one like this once and the guy didn't actually click on the printer selection. He brought the computer and printer in and watched me click on it and said "I didn't know you were supposed to click on the printer". It is strange that it won't work on the PC either, as they are separate com ports. I believe you have to switch the setting on the switch in the back to use PC. I know 0 is Mac, 4 is test print, I think 6 is PC but I'm not sure. All my customers use it for Macs only, I don't know anyone who actually uses it for both.
