Can I get JUST video for LJ3100?

Hi,

I'm going to be doing some service on a LJ3100 soon and would like to know if it's possible to get just the disassembly video instead of the whole repair kit? The client already has parts on the way so I'd rather not have to buy additional parts at this time. Also since the video is offered as an AVI on CD-ROM, perhaps it could be posted someplace online for download (I've got a DSL connection so large download is not a problem)?

Thanks,
Mike H.

It would've been cheaper to just buy our kit, but
I had a client who paid hp $43 for the parts and then brought it in to us to install them because he couldn't figure out how. We haven't had time to transfer the video to CD format yet, so it's just available in VHS format. Videos are only available bundled with parts as kits. You can also use the parts in a 5L/6L printer.

Moe,

Thanks for the reply. The parts issue is unfortunately out of my hands for this job. I'm not worried about not being able to do the work since I'm 5L/6L certified (and the 3100 is essentially a 6L under it's skin - isn't it?).

However I haven't pulled apart a 3100 before and I'll be doing the job at the client site (thus requiring that I complete the job as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimize their downtime).

My main concern is removing the outer plastics quickly and without breaking anything. If there are any things to look out for in this regard (or if you have any other tips you'd care to pass along) I'd be happy to hear them.

Next time I'll see what I can do about getting the kit from you, honest... :-)

Thanks,
Mike H
