HP LaserJet III Feed Legal Paper Message

Printer works fine with letter size paper, but with legal size cartridge in place and full of paper, error message statint "Feed Legal Paper" is displayed. Manual feed along top of paper cartridge does work (message is not displayed and paper moves).
The printer thinks that you have sent a MF command to feed legal paper, this is overriding the legal tray in the printer. You don't say what program you're using, but it's somewhere in the software commands, not the printer's fault.

Hi Moe,
Your advice was on the money. I was using WordPerfect 9 out of Corel Office 2000 and it did take some fiddling in the program to get the HP to print without first posting a "Feed Legal" message. Thank you so much. I have another question, but one on my HPII printer. I'll post that as a separate message.
Joe
