Epson TX550W

I have an Epson tx550w and recently had to replace the ink cartridges. I brought ones which were supposed to be compatible with the machine, but printer showed 'Cannot recognize ink cartridges' and then told me to replace them. So I went out and got the 103 ink cartridges (all black, cyan, yellow, magenta), replaced other ones, but the same message is coming up. I am a (poor) university student and I cannot afford for this to keep happening. Any help would be much appreciated!
Hi Lauren
This is a common thing with many Epson Printers. Best solution is to REMOVE ALL CARTRIDGES, Make sure that ALL of the small microchips are CLEAN. CAREFULLY clean them with metho on a cotton bud. Next Turn off the printer and unplug from the wall. Leave unplugged for 20mins. Plug back in, turn printer on and then replace ALL cartridges. If this doesnt work then you may have a faulty microchip on your cartridge.
