Hp HP DeskJet Plus

HP Laserjet 4 Plus

My printer comes with the standard 2 megabytes of memory.
With regard to memory upgrades, I am just wondering if it is possible to take the 2mb of memory out of another HP laserjet 4 plus printer or an HP laserjet 4 printer, and slot it into mine.
Also, if this IS possible, would the task be relatively simple?
Ian:

No, you can't remove teh two MB that come with teh printer becuase the chips are soldered onto the board. Even if you could, why bother?????

Your LJ 4 Plus takes standard memory SIMM from the old 486DX, DX2-66, DX4-100, P55, P60 upto some P100 PC. It is easiest to find the following memory for upgrade:

72 Pin
70 ns or slower
36 bit parity
SIMM. You could easily get 4-8MB SIMMS and add them to your printer.

The original Spec:
72 pin, 70 ns or slower
32 bit Fastpaging
Present Detect.

Go to your local Goodwill store or look at your local forsale news group and see if someone has a 486DX2-66MHz PC with two 8MB SIMMS and get it. It is the cheapest way to go. IF you don't know how to go about it. Please Email me and I could sell you some really cheap.

Regards.
