have an error of 58.3 on a laserjet 4100.
any idea's????????
I am not 100\% sure, but I think it relates to the toner cartridge chip sending its info status to the formtter. I think it uses an antenna to send the info so I would first try another toner and see what happens.

A 58.3 error occurs when that the memory controller PCB is unable to communicate with the toner cartridge memory.

The error can be caused by:

Toner cartridge

Antenna assembly

Memory controller PCB

Hey Stephen I must have found that before senior moments set in. Seems strange I knew about it in 04 and knew nothing this year. Whats the old joke? When you get old there are two very important things your lose. The first is your memory and the second, damm I forgot.
