Instructions:

1. Remove end cap from front of cartridge (5 clips - Fig. 1).

2. Carefully remove waste toner assembly from cartridge (2 screws - Fig. 2).

Note: Two of the 3 white gears on the front end are loose. Make a note of

their positions and place them aside.

3. Place cartridge on its top and remove 6 screws. Detach securing clip and

separate cartridge (Figs. 3 & 4).

4. Remove the OPC drum. Remove brass bushing on OPC gear and save.

Clean, inspect and lubricate the drum with padding powder. Store in a dark

place. Replace the drum if necessary. If replacement is required, then

perform the following steps to remove OEM gears:

a. Insert a steel dowel through hub opening.

b. Lightly tap the edge of the opposite gear until it becomes dislodged.

c. Perform step b on remaining hub.

d. Install the OEM gears on another OPC drum. Prepare a spot for the con-

tact by scratching the inside of the drum with a piece of steel wool or

sandpaper, otherwise optimal electrical continuity between the gear and

the OPC drum will not be achieved.

e. When installing gear, apply glue to the inside of the drum rather than to

the gear.

5. Remove wiper blade (4 screws). Clean, inspect, and lubricate blade with

padding powder. Replace if necessary.

6. Clean corona wire assembly with cotton swab and 99% IPA (Fig 5).

7. Install the wiper blade.

8. Install the waste toner auger.

9. Install OPC drum. Be sure to install brass bushing on the OPC gear.

10. Reassemble cartridge halves in reverse order (using Figs. 1, 2, & 3 as guides).

To Reset Drum Counter:

The drum count reset is located in the rear of the drum unit compartment in the
copier. It is a small black box with a spring loaded switch on top. Depress and
release the switch, then insert drum unit and resume operation (Fig. 6).
