Hewlett Packard® WX/5Si Cartridge
Instructions:
1. Use a small, flat head screwdriver to gently pry up the base of the cartridge
clips (located on each side of the cartridge - figs. 1 & 2).
a. Remove the clips (fig. 3). Note: The OEM clip (pictured right) can't
be re-used for another cycle. The Oasis clips (pictured left) have a
screw hole, allowing them to be re-used for multiple cycles.
b. Separate the cartridge halves: toner hopper unit and OPC drum unit.

Figure 3
2. On the toner hopper assembly: remove the screws holding the gear cover in
place (fig. 4). Make a note of the gear position for reassembly. Do not pull on
the two small gears located at the back, this will cause the toner agitator rods
to fall into the hopper.

3. Gently lift the magnetic roller contact arm off the post and remove the gear
gear cover (fig. 5). Do not remove or pull on the two small gears located at
the back; this will cause the toner agitator rods to fall into the hopper (fig. 6).

3. Lift
the magnetic roller from the hopper (fig. 7). Use compressed air and a
clean,
lint-free cloth to remove residual toner from the surface of the roller.

4. Remove the two screws holding the doctor blade in place. Gently wipe the
blade with a clean, lint-free cloth (fig. 8).
5. Empty out remaining toner from the hopper and use compressed air to clean
all residual toner from the hopper. Refill the toner hopper through the mag
roller opening.
6. Reassemble the toner hopper: (reverse steps 1-5)
Figure 8
a. Install the doctor blade and secure with two screws.
b. Install the magnetic roller.
c. Install the non-gear end cover and secure with two screws.
d. Install
gears.
e. Align the magnetic roller shaft "D" shaped end with the slot on the
gear cover and secure with two screws.
f. Reseat the magnetic roller contact on the alignment post.
7. Use the small drive punch and hammer to gently drive the OPC axle rod (the
end with the white lock ring) 1-2" into the end of the cartridge (fig. 9). When
removing the axle rod, be careful not to lose or crack the white ring. Next,
grasp the rod that extends from the opposite end of the cartridge and gently
twist and pull to remove it from the OPC.

place the white ring (fig. 10).

8. Remove the primary charge roller (PCR) by lifting it out of the mounting clips
(fig. 11). To clean the PCR, apply a small amount of PCR cleaner to a clean,
lint-free cloth. Gently wipe the surface of the PCR until all residual toner and
PCR cleaner is removed. The surface of the roller will appear shiny. Use a cotton
swab and 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to remove residual toner/ conductive grease
from the clips (fig. 12).

7. Remove the two screws holding the wiperblade in place and lift the blade out
(fig. 13). Use a clean, lint-free cloth saturated with 99% IPA to remove
residual toner from the blade. Inspect the blade for damage and replace if
necessary.
necessary.
8. Empty out the remaining toner from the waste bin and use compressed air to
clean out all residual toner.
Figure 13
9. Reassemble the waste hopper:
a. Install the wiper blade and secure with two screws.
b. Install the PCR in the mounting clips. Note: Be careful not to bend
the side contact when installing the PCR.
c. Carefully install the OPC and replace the drum axle shaft through the
opening in the OPC drive gear. Note: The knurled end of the shaft
enters housing last. Replace the white ring on the non-knurled end of
shaft (fig. 5).
d. Rotate the OPC into the wiperblade so that excess lubricant is removed.
16. Join the cartridge halves and secure with cartridge clips. Oasis has
replacement clips available which can be secured in place with screws
(PN: WXCP10).
