Instructions:

Note: Remove waste bottle from printer prior to removing drum unit.

1. Remove drum axle E-Ring from right side of cartridge. Pull axle rod from left

side of cartridge. (Fig. 1).

2. Remove OPC drum. Clean, inspect and lubricate drum. Replace if necessary.

If replacement is required, then perform the following to remove the OEM

gears:

a. Insert steel dowel through NON-gear end and gently tap gear to dis-

lodge gear. NOTE: Be careful not to damage contacts on inside of

gear.

b. Perform Step a. on NON-gear end.

c. To install gears on replacement OPC drum, prepare the inside of the

gear end with coarse sand paper to insure a good electrical contact.

Contacts must not pass through adhesive when inserted.

3. Lay cartridge on handles and remove corona assembly (2 screws). Clean

and inspect (Fig. 2).

4. Remove wiper

blade (4 screws). Clean, inspect, and lubricate. Replace if

necessary (Fig. 2).

5. Remove waste toner from auger assembly. Be sure to remove ALL used toner.

Re-assembly

6. Install wiper blade (4 Screws).

7. Install corona assembly (2 Screws).

8. Install OPC drum. NOTE: Gear end of OPC meshes with auger gear.

9. Insert axle rod and replace E-Ring. NOTE: Due to the internal contacts, the

Axle rod should be inserted through gear end first.

10.Clean waste auger exit area thoroughly (Fig. 3).

To Reset the OPC page counter: The OPC counter warns you when these

elements need replacing.

1. When the page count reaches 15,000, the printer signals you to replace the

OPC unit. The message area displays "CHG OPC & RESET."

2. After you replace the unit, press the "ENTER" button while the message is still

displayed. When the counter is reset, the message will disappear.
