two screws located in front of the green handles (fig. 1).
Figure 1
2. Pry the two halves apart near the screwhole, and twist the waste half back
away from you (fig. 2). Slide the waste hopper half up and off of the OPC
axles (fig. 3).
Figure 2
Figure 3
3. Remove the wiper blade from the waste hopper by unscrewing the two screws
(fig. 4). Use compressed air to clean out remaining toner from the waste
hopper. Clean, inspect and replace wiper blade if necessary (P/N PFWB20).
Note: Be sure to check the recovery blade for damage; replace if necessary.

4. Next, lift out the corona wiper assembly (fig. 5). Note that the corona wire
assembly is not attached. The corona grid can be removed to expose the
wire (fig. 6). Clean the corona wire with a cotton swab and 99% IPA.

5. To remove the OPC, pry the two spacers off of the metal axle rod (fig 7).
Then grasp the drum axle and gently lift the OPC from the toner hopper
(fig. 8).
a. The OPC contains a full axle rod with a fixed magnet. The magnet aids
in the transfer of toner to the OPC. At the D shaped end of the axle
there is a coder pin. The coder pin and the flat side of the axle hold the
magnet in the correct position for proper toner development (fig. 9).
b. In order to replace the old OPC with a new one (P/N PBDR10) the helical
gear needs to be removed so the magnet can be removed and inserted

into the new OPC.

6. The air gap rollers (P/N PBCP10) act as a replacement for mag roller bushing
(fig. 10). They provide the gap between the OPC and the mag roller and need
to be inspected carefully and replaced if necessary.
Figure 10
7.
The mag roller assembly can be removed with 4 screws. There is a screw on
both ends of the mag housing (fig. 11), and two on the back side of the toner
hopper for a total of 4 screws. This will expose the area where the seal is
installed (fig. 12).

7. To install the seal start by removing the old seal material, clean surface with
alcohol and apply new seal (P/N PBSL40 fig. 13)). Slide the pull tab end of
the seal under the felt covered wedge and replace the wedge.
Figure 13
8. To clean the mag roller remove the toner scraper blade, 2 screws (fig. 14).
Use compressed air to remove excess toner from the mag roller, followed by
a clean cloth saturated with 99% IPA.
Figure 14
9. Do not remove the gear assembly on the side of the cartridge (fig. 15). It is
next to impossible to reassemble.
Figure 15
10. The cartridge can be refilled by removing the hopper plug using a flat head
screwdriver (fig. 16). Fill with toner and replace plug.
11. Reassemble the cartridge in reverse order to insure proper assembly.
