1. Remove the two gold colored
screws on top of the cartridge.
You will also notice that there is a
small silver screw located on the
top cover, near one of the gold
colored screws. You do not need
to remove this screw for the top
cover to be removed.
2. Locate the four small internal
clips on the cartridge. There is
one clip on each side of the
cartridge; the other two are
located on the front.

3. Using a small flathead
screwdriver gently pry the
retaining clip slightly outward.
After unleashing the clips,
remove the top cover.

4. Carefully pull upward on the
top cover of the drum unit. This
cover contains the primary
corona wire and cleaning
mechanism for the wire.

5. You may clean the corona wire
with a Q-tip saturated in 99%
IPA. Be careful not to leave any
residual material from the Q-tip
on the corona wire, as this will
cause a print defect.
6. Gently remove the C-Clamps on
each end of the OPC axle. Take
care not to damage the C-Clamps,
as they are instrumental in
holding the OPC in place during
the print process.
7. After removing the C-Clamps,
pull the OPC axle out toward the
non-geared side of the OPC unit.
It is not possible to pull the axle
piece out through the geared end
of the drum due to the location of
the OPC contact.
8. After removing the axle piece you
will be able to remove the OPC.

NOTE:
When
you remove the OPC,
a small, spring-loaded end cap,
located on the end of the OPC, will
come off on the non-geared side of
the OPC. The black gear on the
geared end will also fall off. Do not
loose either of these, as you will need
these items with the new OPC.

NOTE:
There isn't a locking tab
on the end cap. When you re-
install the OPC, hold on to the
end cap until you have the OPC
back into the cartridge.
10.
Before re-installing the
new OPC, carefully clean out
the interior of the drum
housing with compressed air.
Be careful not to damage the
cleaning brush or mylars.
11. There are small guide rails
on the exterior of the end
cap that fit into grooves on
the drum end piece. These
will NOT lock it into
place.
NOTE:
The geared end of the
drum also has a free-floating gear
that comes loose when the OPC is
removed. There is no spring on
this gear allowing it to slide back
onto the stationary gear.

12. When you re-install the drum,
you will need to hold both ends
until the OPC is actually in the
housing.
This is the proper orientation to use for the
spring and end cap during the reinstallation.
