3. Gently remove the end-cap and set it
aside.
4. Clean the contacts in the end-cap with
compressed air / alcohol. Some of the
gears in the drive train are not secured to
the cartridge, be careful not to loose
them.
5. Please note the proper orientation of the
gears for future reference, remember
some of them are loose and can be
easily lost.
NOTE:
Be sure not to damage the copper
contact spring located at the bottom of the
cartridge.
6. Using a small flat-head screwdriver
CAREFULLY pry off the electrical
contact on the developer roller drive
gear. This contact is extremely fragile
and easily damaged.
7. If you want to remove the outer two
drive gears you may do so at this time.

8. Carefully remove the O-ring clamp from
the developer roller axle.
NOTE:
Be sure NOT to lose the clamp. It is
difficult to remove because it rides in a
groove and has a tendency to fly off during
the removal process.
9. After removing the O-ring clamp,
take off the developer roller drive
gear and set it aside.
NOTE:
If either of the O-ring clamp or
developer roller contact is damaged, there
is a high probability of a print defect
occurring.

cartridge.
12. Disengage the small recoil spring
on the shutter arm.
13. Pull the lower portion of the shutter

.
14. Locate and remove the two screws that
attach a cover plate to the cartridge. This
plate covers the toner fill plug, as well as
acting as a developer roller stabilizer.
15. To remove the developer roller simply
grab the exposed axle and gently pull it out.
Do NOT lose the bearings located at each
end of the developer roller.
16. Using compressed air, clean the sponge
transfer roller of all OEM toner.
17. Due to the design of the cartridge, it is
necessary to fill the toner hopper
BEFORE the developer roller has been
completely installed. To do this, hold the
developer sleeve in place while you are
filling the cartridge. A simple way to do
this is to secure the developer roller to the
cartridge with a rubber band.
NOTE:
If you choose to just hold the roller
in place with your hand, do NOT touch the
coated part of the sleeve with your bare
hands.

18. To remove the doctor blade, take out
the screws that are located at each end of
the metal stamping. The doctor blade
assembly consists of three parts, which
come out separately.
NOTE:
To maintain optimum print quality
it is recommended that the doctor blade be
changed out each cycle.
