1. Remove shutter / developer roller end
cap on the non-geared side of the
cartridge. It is not necessary to
remove the two screws that are
located near the end-cap.
2. To remove the developer roller shutter,
gently push up on the metal connecting
rod to open the shutter.
3. Once open, push the rod toward the
geared end of the developer roller, this will
allow the shutter to become detached from
the end-cap.
4. With the shutter door in the open
position, disengage it from the shutter

5. Locate and remove the four screws
from the non-geared end of the
cartridge.
6. Once the screws have been
removed, gently pry of the end-cap.
7. Remove the cartridge end-cap. Be
careful not to lose the small black
bearing that rides in a recessed area in
the developer roller magnet housing. The
bearing is unattached and will fall out
easily.
8. Locate and remove the three screws
on the opposite end (geared end) of
the cartridge.
Note:
It is not necessary for the shutter
actuator arm to be removed, it may
remain attached to the end-cap.
Although it is not necessary to remove
this end-cap to take out the developer
roller, it is recommended to facilitate
cleaning the contacts that are located on
the inside of the end-cap.

9. While removing the end-cap be
careful as none of the drive gears are
secured to the hopper. Also, be
careful not to lose the developer roller
contact spring, located on the end of
the developer roller.
As on the non-geared side of the
developer roller, there is also an
unattached bearing that resides in an
indention in the end-cap, do not lose
this.
10. Clean off all contamination from
the contacts using 99% IPA and a
cotton swab, take care not to leave
any lint in the contact area.
NOTE:
Be sure you have cleaned the
developer roller contact spring
thoroughly.
11. If you do not want to remove the
drive gears, it is possible to remove
the developer roller and then re-
attach the end cap for filling
through the developer roller
opening.
12. Remove the developer roller. (In
this photo, the end-cap on the geared
side has not been removed.)
13. Clean both the roller and inside of
the toner hopper with clean, filtered
compressed air.
