I recently purchased used a HP Photosmart Printer. In shipping a part detached from somewhere inside the printer. I found this part laying loose on top of the rail that the ink cartridges ride on when I opened up the front of the printer. This is an older Photosmart Printer, 97 or 98? If anyone has a printer similar and knows where this part might go, or what it is? The part is unbroken, just detached. I'm a divorced mother of one on a limited income, and really need to avoid a huge repair bill for something that might be simple. That piece is the capping sled and it goes atop the service station. This is right behind the on-off buttons. This part is what wipes the bottom of the cartridge printhead and cleans it. Bad thing is it is easier to replace this part by taking the cover of the printer off. If you open the access door and look to the right behind the on-off switches you will see where the cartridges sit when they are at rest. This is where this piece goes. Good luck with it.

I have an hp c4100 series printer that came free last year when I purchased my hp computer. Both came from Best Buy and are only one year old exactly. The problem I am having in that my printer sometimes/ most of the time will not start printing the top portion of whatever I am trying to print. I have done everything that I know how to as far as resetting the printer, working w/ the set up, all the way to unplugging it and completlet starting all over. I am desperate to say the least!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF you have any advice please please please help me because I cannott afford to pay for any help right now and my geek squad service one year after purchase which is ironic because the one year anniversary just past ( ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....LOL)!!!
