Size

Update We did some further tests to try and get to the bottom of this As we dont normally use duplex on this printer we enabled this under the Finishing tab of the HP Universal Printing PS Printing Preferences box The print jobs were unaffected and did not duplex Thinking that the commands sent by the computer to the printer may be unaffected by the regional control panel settings we tried a different computer with Mac OS X 1058 installed On this computer the twosided box was checked at the Print menu It also did not duplex After trawling through more forums and webpages I found this: Issue: Suddenly you are unable to duplex using the PostScript driver Description: If upon initialization one of the doors of the printer is open The PostScript Interpreter will not see the duplexer Workaround: Close all the doors of the printer Power printer OFF and then ON Its the 5th or 6th error listed at this link http:contentsdriverguidecom I turned the printer off and then back on not only was the duplexing issue was resolved the paper size issue seems to have fixed itself : How bizarre

<dc:subject>Laser Forum</dc:subject>

<item jam

first of all dont throw it away not only its a good little printer you havent even used it yet 5000 pages : trust me when i say i would rather fix this printer up than buying another cheap and nasty low cost printer these days the problem sounds like the roller might just need a clean first remove the paper cassette then look up into the printer and you should see a grey roller the fs1020d should have the new type roller with ridges if you see a roller with smooth rubber surface get a new one from a dealer as its not going to work properly no matter what you do if its the new type just rubbedwipe it down with a rag wet with windex the window cleaning liquid no alcohol or other chemicals if its still not working very well get a new roller it should only cost a few dollars and its very easy to remove and replace to remove just push it towards the left with your finger its spring load and should just pops out to replace you need to lign up the flat bit on the right side of the roller

<dc:subject>Laser found this printer presented more than its fair share of problems and when it developed a fault with all four cartridges low I decided it was better to ditch and replace with an HP I dont have the answer to your questions but do have the 3010CN instruction sheet if it helps And the faulty printer is available for spares repair to anybody able to collect from the Ivinghoe area or Bedford where I work or Watford when they play at home or Aylesbury Luton when I head that way No charge just a donation to my London Marathon fundraising for times both leds blink once freen led blinks 2 times then the pattern repeats all over again the machine didnt even try to turn over the light pattern started right from power on status monitor on door

The solution for some of the postings for the error referring to Front or Left door Open may be the microswitch on the Fuser Delivery Drive Assembly It appears that a keeper on an actuator that closes a microswitch may be easily broken This particular unit actually had a broken actuator Replacing the Fuser Delivery Drive Assembly was not in the manual but was not that difficult Remove Control Panel both top covers the left back corner trim and the exit assembly 4 gold and 2 silver screws This exposes the Fuser Delivery Drive Assembly at the left top front of the unit You can then see the switch that seems to be operated by both the front and left door have not had time yet to study the operation Open the front door and remove three screws on the inside from panel in a wide triangle pattern around the lever that raises the toner cart Remove two cable connectors and it should pull away for the side where it can then be removed Got a start on this problem from a hint from postings by kprinterman and Anonymous An examination of the physical actuator did show that it was physically off its mountings and loose Replacement of the Fuser Delivery Drive Assembly solved the problem Hope that helps with some of the Open Left DoorFront Door problems Thanks to you kprinterman and Anonymous And thanks for this forum

<dc:subject>Laser Forum</dc:subject>

<item
