getting anthrax I am starting to suspect either 1 spider webs so dense that air wont blow them away I just dug a bunch out of a bicycle pump so I think this is a remote possibility or 2 a failed light source for the sensor I was told the sensors dont fail but they must have a light source which might Does anyone know if the light source is infrared or visible light If visible light I might be able to test the printer in darkness and see if I can see any light near the sensor arm Or am I just stabbing in the dark Thanks cps

<dc:subject>Laser cleaned the DC power supply The laser scanner is underneath it You need to remove the top of the laser scanner and carefully clean the mirrors and lenses inside Ive seen this problem several times due to leaky toner Because the laser scanner is beside the toner instead of above it the toner gets inside it a lot more easily If you remove the fuser and toner before you take the top off the machine youll see a black plastic cover that you can remove and get better access to the toner area from the top of the printer You do not have to take the laser scanner out to clean it just take off the top and clean it with a dry lint free wipe

<dc:subject>Laser Forum</dc:subject>

<item cartridges and it has worked fine so far Today I was resetting it and I wondered what would happen if I just left the gray gear and the spring out entirely As an experiment I left it out and the print quality seems fine to me Will this keep me from getting the out of toner message until the cartridge is actually depleted or will it likely cause me some problem down the road Has anybody tried this Thanks again

<dc:subject>Laser Forum</dc:subject>

<item screws and pry out at each corner and lift off Fuser has to come off the back end 3 screws Formatter board has to come off of the right side 5 screws and pull up on it There are 2 screws below the formatter in metal strips that have to come off Now you turn the printer upside down and take the screws out holding the board There are 3 small screws in the corner and 4 or 5 large screws Then lift the board out Youll have to take it out of its plate as well Thats a bit tricky I dont know if the manual will help but you can download one here http:wwwfixyourownprintercomreferencemanualspublichp
