now that you have the carriage out of the way you can examine the purge parking pads to see if they or the wiper blades are jammed Cycle the gears by hand towards the rear of the printer and you should be able to take it all the way through one full cycle Look to see if anything is jammed like a paper clip or pin or anything

<dc:subject>InkJet that So theres no way the strip needs replacing unless it is so dirty that the lines are obscured from the sensor Perhaps the sensor needs replacing I didnt notice whether the lines were visible to the naked eye when cleaning it Is there perhaps something that needs to be manually reset when putting the printer back together after dissasembling the head I had the printer mechanism half stripped down via the aid of an r800 maintence manual everything was put back together as stated

<dc:subject>InkJet you to send it in for fixing Suggest checking out the SSC Utility to see if your model is covered If so you can reset the counter and it will continue to function till next time releasable piece in the front of the cartridge that first needs to be clicked in tight to the cartridge before installing Once installed it pops out so the cartridge fits properly When I got my cartridges there were all popped out so one of my cartridges did what yours is doing So make sure that there is no space between the main part of your cartridge and the front plastic piece I think you just need to press it into place BTW I contacted the generic ink supply company in my case clickinks and the customer service rep there walked me through it So if my advice isnt working you can try to contact the ink supply company Good luck

<dc:subject>InkJet Forum</dc:subject>

<item you ever taken the printhead out of the machine and cleaned it Here are the steps 1 Open the top cover and when the head comes to the center pull out the power cord 2 Remove and cap all the ink carts so they wont leak or dry 3 Unlock the carriage lever and then lift out the printhead 4 At your laundry room sink use medium hot water and flush all of the ink out from the filter screens Turn the head over and focus the water stream directly on the nozzles Now turn the head over out of the way of the water and examine each of the filter screens They should be wet with colored ink Rinsh this out and turn it back over and focus the stream on each set of nozzles Continue this until you see no more colored ink coming out 5 Use an Air compressor to BLOW all water out of all parts of the head You may have to use a HAIR Dryer at low heat and High air flow to dry the head You may have to let it set over night to totally dry 6 Check the ink flow of each ink cart Use a 14 folded paper towel and blot the ink cart on the towel You should immediately get a good wet spot of that ink If not Use your mouth to blow air into the top rear exit port and you should see 1 or 2 drops of ink fall onto the paper towel If you dont get this your ink cart is internally drying up and needs to be replaced 7 Clean the contacts on the back of the head with ISOPROpyl Alcohol and also clean the contacts inside the carriage 8 Install the head and the ink carts and do a Cleaning Cycle from inside the PC printer maintenance window 9 Print only a Nozzle Check Print to prove you have returned good ink into the head If all of this fails to give you a good nozzle check click on my USER ID and send me a note I will respond with another note and then you will be able to send me a scanned image of the nozzle check

<dc:subject>InkJet Forum</dc:subject>

<item solution that you inject through the ink ports on the head then it probably isnt suitable for the 4000 as it is very difficult to remove the ink resevoirs to access the head All you can really do is use the cleaning options on the printer itself normal cleaning for light clogs and power clean for more stubborn ones although this can use alot of ink
