HP inkjet F380 cartridge carrior jammed

HP inkjet F380 cartridge carrior jammed by dingaling (11/17/09 11:35 AM) reply + / -
I installed a new color cartridge into the carrier and tried to print something. The carrier jammed and refused to move from the far right position.

I followed the instructions in the HP manual and then went to their online site and followed those instructions for unjamming the carrier. I did this numerous times and nothing works.

The carrier slides along a metal piece from right to left. There are two very small pieces of metal on the bottom and I believe they are there to stop the carrier from going too far to the right or too far to the left. In other words, I think the carrier normally operates between these two pieces of metal. The problem is that the carrier is stuck to the right of the piece of metal on the right side and I cannot get it to move in between the two pieces. At least that is what it looks like to me.

Any suggestions and help are appreciated.

I should have said it is a Deskjet F380, not an inkjet. Sorry about that.
