Tally 2130 Hardware Alarm by jody6374 (11/17/09 9:21 AM) reply + / -
My Tally 2130 printer makes a lound clanging noise, then stops printing and gives me the error message "Hardware Alarm Home Position". If I turn the printer off and then back on it will print approximately half of a page before doing the same thing again. Can anybody help? Thanks.

It has been a long time since I have seen one of those.
Remove the ribbon.
Make sure the area around the prithead is free from dust.
If there is a thin transparant plastic strip, make sure it is dust free.

Have you tried a different ribbon?
Try moving the lever on the right down a notch or 2

Moving the lever down a couple of notches seemed to do the trick. Thank you so much!
