 | HP 5500dtn Color Laserjet problem by Zeb_Carter (11/16/09 11:14 AM) reply | + / - | A customer brought in a malfunctioning unit. Here's my situation and my tentative diagnosis: the printer powers up, gets to Ready. Trying to print a config page, data light blinks as if receiving data but nothing prints. Sometimes, a 49.FF04 error appears - either during the print job or shortly after power up. Pressing the engine test switch after a power cycle and READY results in the printing engine test but again nothing appears in the tray. My diagnosis is that the DC Controller is at fault.
On the right track or is there something else I am overlooking?
Thanks in advance.

This morning, I was able to print a config page, an engine test page, and a demo page - all successfully.
I will report back on any other findings once I have gone over the event log (also printed this morning).
