Phaser 780 Banding/Spotting Issue

Phaser 780 Banding/Spotting Issue by Kurbis (11/14/09 10:39 AM) reply + / -
I have a print issue with my Phaser 780 where there is consistent white spotting and minimal streaking / white banding within a one inch strip from the edge that is closest to the front of the printer.

I've gone through the service manual and nothing is clear - the white streaking leads me in one direction while the spotting leads somewhere else. I don't want to have to replace every part to get to the issue.

I've replaced the imaging unit so far and that isn't the problem.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge can help...Thanks!

Here is a picture of the spotting/bands on a service print.

The rest of the service print is perfect.

If the spots appear ONLY once on a tabloid size print then the accumulator belt is dammaged. If the treaks appear ONLY in one color then the developper assembly may have to be replaced. It the spots appear at a regular interval, measure it and I believe the service manual tells you what distance corresponds to witch component. If the streak are in ALL colors the drum maybe bad.

just my 2 cents...

It happens on every size print but doesn't happen with every color. It seems I can get away with it sometimes but it's especially noticeable with orange/red prints.

I just tried the black service print and it's unaffected by spots
or streaks.
