Lexmark C720 997 Service Enginge Error by LCE (10/30/09 8:53 AM) reply + / -
Hello there,

just recently moved my Lexmark C720 printer which worked perfectly before, and have this problem:

First I had several paper jams, they all were stuck in the middle of the back door. Something is "screaming", like a transport roll that doesn't move. Seems like the paper isn't transported correctly any more. After some jams, the printer showed a "997 Service Engine Error".

Unfortunately, only the error codes up to 979 are reported, I can't find anything about that fault.

Is there anyone who knows what that error code means and if (and how) I can repair the printer by myselfe?

Thank you, best wishes
Lucia

The network card is defective, could have gone loose while moving.. try reseating the same. if no go, remove the network card from the printer and turn it on. check if u still get this message.

Hello Anonymous.

It would be perfect, if you would read the error the correct way. it was 997! not 977!!!

Meanwhile, I contacted the lexmark support and they told me that it needs a repair - but fortunately, by accident, I figured out that it was only the photo developer that was broken. Just had to change that and now it works again.

Thank you for your help,

best wishes
Lucia
