We have a 2400 that starts registration late (too far down the page). After a few pages it starts doing ok until it rests awhile, then does the same. Sensor & flag seem to function ok. I saw a vague reference in a resopnse to a previous question about a paper pick up problem. Is there a known fault? I'm more suspicious that the sensor is electronically "sluggish". Any insight you might share would be greatly appreciated.
I remember a sticky registration solenoid behind the main pcb on the rear of the printer causing this.
removed old gummed up material from solenoid surface and installed new thin felt material normally used for an analog panasonic copier and this repair lasted for a year or two before printer was put out to pasture...
I successfully fixed a similar issue recently on my HP 2200d printer following detailed instructions provided by somebody on this forum.
I'm wondering if there is a similar set of instructions somewhere on how to get to the proper solenoid on the Magicolor 2400W. This printer seems quite a bit more complicated than the HP, and I don't want to just wing it and start taking things apart.
I've downloaded the M2400W service manual, but it isn't detailed enough.
(Changed in edit: Actually I didn't get the 2400W service manual. It doesn't seem to be available. I downloaded the 2300 manual hoping it would be similar.)
