 | HP Printer Feed Problems by James VIII (7/4/09 6:19 PM) reply | + / - | I have come to the conclusion that HP printers have a poorly designed paper feed mechanism that they keep using across their home and officejet lines.
If you print more than a few pages at a time you are going to be eaten up by wasted paper and missed deadlines.
For some reason it took trouble with numerous HP printers for several years before I realized the problem was in HP’s design of the printers. HP keeps using this faulty design.
The only real solution is to get rid of the HP printers. I now have a Kyocera printer that has NEVER done a multiple feed. The feed problems disappeared when HP’s disappeared, and not until.

 | Re: HP Printer Feed Problems by nivek (7/5/09 8:53 AM) reply | + / - | Really most the time I run into multiple feeding on the inkjets is when the tiny little sep pad gets worn down or dirty. Some people clean them and they work better. I usually just remove the old material and replace and the machines back in business. Usually the result of the multiple feeding is heavy usage and its due for a good cleaning anyway by that point. So you end up restoring the printer to good working order and take care of several issues that are about ready to come to surface. And if this person is relating to there laserjets well just replace the sep pad. cost anywhere between $5 and $10 dollars takes about 5 minutes. If you had numerous printers with the same problem maybe you should of took the time to fix one so you could fix the others rather than sitting around getting upset. That would be a productive way to use this site. Rather than bashing HP.

 | Re: Re: HP Printer Feed Problems by Anonymous (7/5/09 5:20 PM) reply | + / - | We have Canon, Ricoh and Kyocera printers and none of them have the multiple feed problems (especially when duplexing) that HP has across all the printers we have owned from HP, including both personal printers and officejet pro printers.
The universal multiple paper feeds that occur when printing with HPs were not caused by worn out pads, rollers, or heavy useage.

 | Re: HP Printer Feed Problems by Stephen (7/5/09 6:38 PM) reply | + / - | I've worked on hundreds of HP DeskJet printers and the only time I've had problems with Multifeeding it was caused by the separation pad, or by the media itself.
