I Quoted this message from canon Mp 150 reset..does this work with canon Mp 198 too?Or is there other method of resetting my printer?

"This is actually a very easy fix. Two absorber pads are located on the right side of the printer, under the ink cartridges. With the printer on, lift the top to expose the cartridges. They will automatically move out of the way. You can move them to the left side by hand if the printer is not on. You will probably need a flashlight to see the pads. They each sit in a rubber retainer. The pads can be removed very easily and cleaned. Take the pads out of the retainers with tweezers. They clean up nicely with warm water but you can use something like Simple Green if they are stubborn. It is best to use a spray bottle (on stream) and blast it through the pad until it is white. Sometimes just putting it under a running faucet will do the trick. If there is ink in the rubber retainer after taking the pad out, it can be cleaned up with a paper towel. Put the pads back into the retainers and you have successfully cleaned the ink absorbers. Now you may have to reset the error message so you can get back to printing. This is how to do it.

How to clear E27 Code

* With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.
* When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
* When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)

I've tried this on my mp210 but I'm pondered about something.

When it enters the service mode the display indicator shows the 0 instead of the usual 1 (as 1 copy) and the power button is green. When I press the stop button the power button goes off and the system notice led shows orange. If I press stop again the power button goes green again and the system notice LED is turned off. I've figured this is what you meant that the LED goes green/orange. But what should I press or should I press anything at all when I'm choosing the options? Does it just work automatically each time you select the certain option? (by pressing the stop button the desired number of times)

I have a PIXMA MP190, the printer have just a green led, it doesn't change and they aren't tat LCD! The power botton is the led!

I 've tried this procedure:

CANON MP190
Reset Waste Ink full canon

1. Enter SERVICE MODE. By pressing Menu Copy Scan Copy Copy
2. Select TEST MODE.
3. Select [8] PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE.
4. Select 3. [EEPROM CLEAR].
5. Select 0. [INK COUNT].
6. Press the [Set] key.
7. Press the [Stop/Reset] key (returning to the state of
3)), and then press the [ON/OFF] key

After reset manual now remained the reset permanenly using

but it's for MPC 190 not MP 190 pixma :

I'll find this one:

Waste Ink Counter Reset.
(1) Turn off the printer.
(2) Press and hold the RESUME button, then press and hold the POWER
button.
(3) Release the RESUME button, Next press and release the RESUME
button two(2) more times in
succession. Note: you are still holding the POWER button). The
printer's carriage will "reset"
or move momentarily. If the above was properly performed the
printer will enter the
"Service Mode".
(4) Press the RESUME button 4 times, this will select the clear waste ink
counter function. The lamp
will alternate (change) color with each key press.
1. Service/Factory test printout, including ink sensor check.
2. EEPROM - Info printout.
3. EEPROM - Initialization.
4. Reset the Waste ink counter.
5. Printer model setting. (More selections beyond this point -
However it is best leave them unaltered - You have been warned!)
After selecting the desired mode (eg 4), press the POWER button to
"set" the change, and return to the top of the function selection menu.
Press the POWER button again to restart the printer.

I can do this procedure, it seems work but the error E27 appears again.
