Hello people! I already know the way printer can be reset: It needs solder out 48-pins chip (29LV800), get out dump (4300) and then dump in the firmware from the scx-4200, and short-circuit R121 resistor on the circuit board.
OR you can change whole formatter board scx-4300 on the one from scx-4200 (JÑ92-02112A\JC92-01762A)and short-circuit R121 resistor on the circuit board too
In Russia & Ukraine many people already fixed own 4300 printers by this program without problem. I hope this fix will be usefull in this forum. With best regards Alutov - the author of this fix.

I'm sorry for my english... You must remove chip from cartridge. And we don't verify stable downloading 1.13fix over 1.16. Be carefull. If flash programming aborted in any reason you may get damaged device and you need solder out and progamming flash by external programmer as explained above by VXR10.

Yes, it is 1.13. I can print the report without problem but i can not print from the PC neither copy or start button. I don't know what is wrong. Thank for help me. I hope the printer works soon.
It must be "1.13fix" not "1.13"! Let's start again. To solve problem you need to download PATCHED by scx4300.exe 1.13 firmware where additional reset procedure was implemented in. To patch firmware you need to unpack archive in any folder then open commad line interface go to this folder then type "fix4300.exe SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd". If no error occurs you will find file "FIX_SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd". It's a patched firmware. The next step is to download this file to printer. Enter TECH mode, activate download by "Menu > Data Setup > Flash Upgrade > Local [OK]" then type in command line "usbprns2.exe FIX_SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd" to start download. During download printer displays: Data receiving > Flash erasing > Flash Programming > Checksumming > Download Ok then printer will restart. It's all. To reset all counters and unblock printer enter Tech mode go Data Setup > Clear counters. In this menu you will find "Clear All CNT" instead of "Total Page CNT". Choose "Clear All CNT" then press [OK]. Printer will display "warming up" and LED will yellow for seconds then change to green. After reset all counters in report will be zero and toner 100%. You may repeat this procedure as soon as you need.
Yes, You will find version with reset from user menu and now I'm testing 1.16fix. It is working on my printer. I'm not a serviceman, only SCX-4300 user who knows assembler a little... I have one negative reply, when someone attempts to download 1.13fix over 1.16. My reason on this forum to explain how to fix printer (PR-company ;)).

Hi Oscarif, I'm using a PC with XP Professioanl 2002 version with Service pack2. I'm trying to open the zip files of fix4300.exe and usbprns2.exe after. As much as I realize it's trying to extract the files and it says "processing" but it ends up without completing the operation. And I'm sure if it extracts these firmware files it'll be ok.

Hi there, I have no pb downloading the firware on my printer or getting in TECH mode. Still, the message CLEAR ALL COUNT does not appear on my printer's screen. Everything worked exactly how Alutov described, except the part where TOTAL PAGE COUNT should be replaced by CLEAR ALL COUNT. I mean it shows Total Page CNT and when i press ok, it just says Clearing and thats it.No restart whatsoever or change in Led light. Did i do smth wrong there? Its a first cartridge so no chip problem. Should i use other version of firmware such as 1.16? If so, where do I get it from? Many thanks

I extracted the files from http://rapidshare.de/files/46696684/scx4300fw113.rar.html and just dragged and dropped SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd on usbprns2 executable after i pressed LOCAL [OK] during the flash upgrade//U must be in TECH mode to do that. A Run command window will appear and the printer screen will start writing some messages Data receiving > Flash erasing > Flash Programming > Checksumming > Download Ok, thats it. Hope it helped and plz tell me if u managed to clear all count.
The problem, as you can see is that the file you download is bad, I think you must download the file again and try to unzip it.

First you must drag and drop SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd on fix4300.exe, it generate a new file "FIX_SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd", this file should be dropped on usbprns2.exe when the printer is receiving data status.
Ok, I tried to do drag and drop SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd on fix4300.exe but nothing happens, just a small flash of the C:\ window. i downloaded the archive again and still the same result. I cannot find the "FIX_SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd" file. I even entered "fix4300.exe SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd" in the command line.Im not a computer genius but I do realise i am doing smth wrong, so plz tell me what I do wrong

I agree with doruahab, nothing shows up when I try to drag fix4300.exe . Alutov and VXR10 says "SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd" must be dropped but it only pops a window and it closes automaticly.Printer tries to receive data but it can't... These guys must give us another link where fix4300.exe and usbprns2.exe easily opens up or send us a hammer :) I think we do sth wrong with these patched firmware files.

To reset all counters and unblock printer now you have choice: 1. In Tech mode: go Data Setup > Clear counters. In this menu you will find "Clear All CNT " instead of "Total Page CNT". Choose "Clear All CNT" then press [OK]. 2. in User mode: go 10 .Maintenance > Clear Setting > All Setting [OK]
Pc says "program cannot be recognized" for the patched .bat files for 1.13/1.16 versions . Sorry. Only "fix4300j.exe" zip file is tryin to be opened but I don't know what to type onto whether user or service menu and onto "source file","destination file "...
By the way I used the firmwares by using startcopy.ru but I faced with the same problem.
I wonder if do sth wrong or our pc worths nothing for opening these files. I can't open .exe files,I can't open .bat files either.. On the other hand there's nth wrong with the printer for TECH menu but I can't send any datas to the printer :(
That is the main problem.When I try to run fix13.bat or fix16.bat it says "fix.4300.exe is not recognized as interior or outer command ,runnable program or total work file then "pause 0" ....

I try to make a short translation. Sorry for my english. If firmware upgrade abort in any reason (for example as result of power off device or fault during programming) printer gets into inoperable state. During power on after unsuccessful programming printer displays "Download From PC" and USB is not working and no any responds on any key. Traditional way to "alive" printer from this state is to solder out ROM from printer and program on external programmer or change a formatter board . In this article I describe another way without ROM soldering. As you know printer's ROM consists from 3 parts: the main replaceable firmware, data area and the loader. Loader code contains loading and verifying procedures. loader has a simple monitor also. During power up the loader first displays on DEBUG interface (debug console see below):

If you press any key at this moment printer calls a bult in monitor program. Then loader calculates main firmware checksum. If result is zero loader pass control to the main firmware. If result is non zero loader displays on printer's screen "Download From PC" and outputs to DEBUG interface:

Then loader waits for "u" or "p" from DEBUG interface only. That is why printer "hangs". And only when it gets "u" or "U" from DEBUG printer displays on screen "via USB" and switch on USB. Computer finds "Boot downloader" device and you may download firmware in a standart way but firmware must be without leading 4 bytes ("4300" in scx4300 firmwares). That's all. Let's talk about DEBUG interface. In a formatter board (main processor board) you can find a connector labelled "DEBUG". On my formatter board there is no connector just 4 holes for it but I hope in the other formatter connector may exist. It's a RS232 or computer COM port interface but 3.3 TTL level. The port pins layout is (if counted from processor) 3.3v > TxD > RxD > GND. You need RS232 +/- 12 volts to TTL 3.3 volts converter to connect printer to computer serial COM port. There are many converter's circuits examples in Internet but I recommend to buy a mobile phone data cable for COM port. In my cause it's a Samsung C100 data cable. I prefer it because a simple reasseble connector. I just colder 3 wire to Samsung connector: GND, TxD, RxD. The GND wire is connected to pin 5 on 9-pinned RS232 computer connector. To find TxD I connect data cable to computer then start bult in windows HyperTerminal and perform connection with any parameters. then I press any key and find output wire by oscilloscope. It's a computer TxD will be connected via 400...1000 Ohm resistor (5 > 3.3v) to DEBUG RxD. Then I try to connect computer TxD to any other pin untill you see output echo on HyperTerminal. It's computer RxD will be connected to DEBUG TxD. Connect GNG first then RdD and TxD on power of printer. Be careful when you connect to DEBUG - connector wires direct to processor! After connection start HyperTerminal then set following connection parameters: 115200 8 N 1 without flow control. Activate connection then power on printer. If all OK you will see on terminal screen: =================================================================== Press any key to execute Monitor Program within 1 sec..(in Boot) =================================================================== <<> > There is no image in RAM. Download Start!!! Select port : 'u' [usb] 'p' [parallel]
Enter "u" in Hyper Terminal then start firmware download as describe above.
A few words about bult in monitor. You may call by entering any key during printer power up:

All values are hexadecimal. I don't test all command. As I know dm - display memory, go - pass control. For example GO 10000 - start main firmware. On my opinion the main useful command is "flash". When you enter this command printer go to a load firmware state as described above.

If you have no this problem just download standart or patched firmware in a standart way without any modification. And no HyperTerminal needed too. ------------------------------------------------------- If you see "PC to DRAM NG" checksum is not correct - maybe you download incompatible file. ------------------------------------------------------- I use bult in windows HyperTerminal for repair printer. And just delete first 4 bytes from standart firmware for repair.
Yes, I am facing the problem after unsuccessfull insertion as the electricity went off when i was updating my printer firmware. My printer is giving "Download from PC" message and no key of printer is working.

Connect cable to computer, activate terminal connection. On two out lines (TxD & RTS) in data cable you find 3-5 volts. Press for example space for a long time then find line where level falls.

Dear friends I'm from India, my Samsung SCX 4300 version is 3.04.52:04 the Toner is Exhausted is it possible to fix this printer with "scx4300fw113" fix? and is it necessary to remove the chipset permanently from the catridge or need to replace it after the fix? will it affect the copier function? if successful do we need to do this again after a particular number of prints? please reply... it'll be gr8 if somebody post an easy to use step by step procedure for "scx4300fw113" fix.
I don't know this version. Only 1.08, 1.09, 1.12, 1.13, 1.16. All this versions you can upgrade to 1.16fix. Press quickly Menu, Copy, Left, Right, Menu, Stop and see version on printer's screen. Original firmwares links: _http://www.startcopy.ru/repair/files/scx4300fw116.rar (1.16). Patch both for it and corresponding *16.bat files link: _http://www.startcopy.ru/repair/files/scx4300_sc1.zip. Unpack all in one any folder, run fix16.bat then activate printer program upgrading as described above and run download16.bat. You don't need chipset on cartridge at all. When your printer remind you to replace cartridge (usually after about 600-1000 pages depending on contents) just reset it. If chipset present on cartdidge reset will be unsuccessfull because printer read chipset first before it's internal variables.

anyway it was the first catridge that came with the SCX-4300 and refilled once,when the total page counts reached 4504 the "Toner is Exhausted " and now the surprise is I just removed the chipset from catridge for resetting and the printer works normally without any fixing,patching or updating! why?
Dear Anku, The printer has inbuilt memory to print 1000 copies. it does not need chip. this is starter cartridge. as it says 1000 copies but after nearly about 2000 copies it will give message "toner exhausted" and u will have to insert new chip or go for solution provided by Alutov. hope it is clear

With starter cartridge works fine. But I have one question, what if I already had bought a new cartridge for SCX-4300 that came with a chip in it? That one is already exhausted and won't let me print. Should I just remove the chip from that "new" cartridge and it will let me print?
For Anonymous. I've tested all "Menu, Copy, Left, Right, Menu + any key" combinations. For sergioglez. Yes, just remove the chip from that cartridge. It will be a starter one.
I can't upgrade SCX-4200's fw through Debug interface. it's strange that no display and no act instead of "download from pc" . there should be some diffrence between 4200 and 4300 .
As I know 4300 and 4200 have some differences in a data area - range 4000h - 0ffffh. When you upgrade firmware by "DEBUG" from 4200 to 4300 this area not changed.

yes firmware is 1.13fix i checked but from report menu :) i covered chip hole with Scotch tape update was successful but LED again light red and write on display " Toner Exhausted Replace Toner". i filled cartridge whit toner.
I have a software of samsung scx-4300, hardware setting ml-1640, ml-2245 which makes page count zero and it works permenently without replacing new toner
Diffrence between 4200 and 4300,as VXR10 has said ,The R121 and firmware. On 4200's main board,R121 is a 10kR Chip Fixed Resistor;on 4300,R121 is a 0R Chip Fixed Resistor. so it is not easy but available you can change them to each other.

I did everything you said, and now I can see the firmware version on the printer screen is V1.16 and the second line displays V1.01.26 ok? but still have the msg toner exhausted etc.. My cartridge is from factory and was filled just once in a company here in town, they only filled it and returned to me the same cartridge, nothing was done in the printer, the cartridge works fine, and if I ask for printer to report data the page "System data List" is well printed. But I cant print anything else, I can print no more. Any help? P.S in that "report page" the line saying "toner remaining" is 0%. Is that normal? Thank you.

Hello folks, I finally figured out what happend, I never run the fix4300 over the FW file, so the firmware of my printer always V1.16 only and now I did with those bat files, and everithing is sweet. Thank you all specialy Mr. Alutov.

Although i am still unclear to go forward because of few things. so Please help me in the steps below to do it sucessfuly. 1. I already checked the report & found that i have firware 1.13 Now do i need to update it to 1.16 then fix or should i fix it with 1.13fix 2. I get it that i should remove chip from cartage that would mean i have to reinsert the cartage without chip in printer? What i want to know is after fix should i reinsert the chip in cartage or no need of it in future? 3 if i need to reinsert first i should get it refilled then insert?

1.You may upgrade your printer both versions of fixed firmware. I upgrade my firmware from 1.12 to 1.13 then 1.13fix then 1.16fix. 2.Yes, you reinsert the cartride without chip in printer. 3.For your choice, not critical. Do not power off printer during programming!

You can return back to the original firmware without problem if you need (for example 1.13fix > 1.13 or 1.16fix > 1.16). But one of counters won't count after reset. I don't try to find why up to this day. About guarantee. In my country price of two cartriges is equal to a new printer. The best idea is to print up to 3000 copies then (or when guarantee lost) replace firmware by fixed one. I can't find firmware elsewhere except startcopy.ru.

How does affect the update of drivers ( Print, Scan and Smart Panel) in the future having been put on a fixed firmware? The present drivers are good for Win Xp (which I use) but, in a couple of years, I may need to change to win7, and than I will have to update them. Yours sincerely, Johnny999
The behavior of fixed firmware is completely exact as original one except reset possibility. Addition reset code have placed to debug text range in original firmware. But I know some complains when scanner does not work properly after reset of blocked printer. In this cause just reinstall scan and/or printer drivers.

You don't need chip in cartridge at all. Also you don't need reflash firmware anymore. Just reset counters when you get LOW TONER or TONER EMPTY warnings from device.
I found something funny. recently my introductory cartridge got exhausted and then i got on to this forum. But.......... Rather than doing all those hardware resets, i just applied a strip of cello tape on some wires showing through slits on this first cartridge(Probably chip connectors to printer???.God Knows).
And then when I replaced it on to the printer.........Bang......the smart panel shows ink status as full. I then printed the system data report, and it also shows 100% ink remaining. I printed a few pages and dropped the remaining ink level to 98%. Then i removed the tape and replaced the cartridge..........oops..........it said the toner is empty. So I reaplied the tape and then restarted the machine. But this time the machine was smart enough, and the report showed that 98% ink was remaining. Probably it makes some memory for each cartridge. well I havent tried the firmware reset yet, coz the cartridge is working well for me. But I dont know for how long will it go.

you have to enter the Command line and put there the two files, usbprns2.exe and FIX_SCX4300_V1.16_Fact_romdl.hd. you also need to open a folder and put there these two files. then you write the path to the folder and at the end these two files with space between them Before enter you must put your printer on Tech mode, receiving data

I have the program of scx-4200 but it is a different system. In the logic card it uses the 29LV800 FLASHROM. The EEPROM goes in the chip of toner. Of all ways is good to have the program bin of PonyProg for scx-4300 and to see how the memory of the logical card can be recorded. Greetings.

you have told something about the first toner that bundle with new printer. it have no chip inside. since it doesn't have chip can i use your solutions.

Even you have starter cartridge you must verify if chip present in it. As I know in some countries printer has a chip in a first cartridge. You must remove chip from cartridge before you flash fixed printer firmware otherwise you can't reset counters. You don't need chip in cartridge at all after firmware upgrade. Do not power off printer during flashing before flash completes! The best idea to connect printer to power UPS before flashing firmware.

Find four holes in the rear side of cartridge. If you see a small board with four connectors present in theese holes - chip present. Just remove this board from cartridge. For all: IF YOU DON'T SEE GREEN LED AFTER RESET ON FIXED FIRMWARE (if you see "1.13fix" or "1.16fix" or "1.18fix" in report, see orange LED during reset procedure, "Clear All CNT" present in "TECH/Data Setup" menu) AND "CRU PRINTS" COUNTER IN REPORT HAS NON ZERO VALUE VERIFY AND REMOVE CHIP FROM CARTRIDGE.
I have update the firmware 1,13, 1,18 and 1,20 of satisfactory way with 1.13fix and until the moment I have not had any problem. Being the same hardware the one that provides with accomodations the program does not have because to have problems.Superior versions in the firmware correct defects this is something that we must consider . On the other hand I have the Ponyprog program for the EEPROM that brings with the SCX-4200 if somebody it someone needs it I put it . I am going to prove 1.18fix and I put the results. Also I am going to experience so much with the chip of the cartridge like with the flash memory of the logical card. Greetings.
I recently(this year)purchased an scx4300. I was properly informed that the included toner would only yeild about 300 pages. At around 300pages it reported toner exhausted replace toner. I went to the store to get a new toner only to return it at once when it printed a dirty page. It was replace after being tested on a newly displayed unit. Everything went fine until it reported an exhausted toner at a print count of about 1,300pages, which includes the output of the initial toner. I was told to bring the unit for check-up. I rang up the service shop and was told that it would be more than a week just to check it up. With most of my kids in school, I should always have a printer ready. What supprises me is the very low page count as compared with their advertised 2,000 pages. Reloading would void my warranty. I disposed of my working HP 6p when I got my new samsung scx-4300 to save on space. Now I realize that purchasing the unit was my biggest mistake.
Hai alutov...firstly thankx for providing the firmware for scx 4300 printer. i bought a new printer and updated its firmware and applied scotch tape on its chip. now i can reset all the counters. Is ver1.18 better than ver 1.13 ?i have uploaded 1.13fix on my printer. i have a printing problem.... after making all the software settings, my printouts have less margin on left side than on the right side... i fear whether there is some alignment problem with the hardware(printer)....plz reply. thankx..
Hai EVERYONE and especially ALUTOV... I downloaded the ver 1.18 and after fixing it , i installed it on my SCX 4300 printer. But the scanner was giving problems while working with WINDOWS 7. So i again downloaded the ver 1.13 and now everything works fine with WINDOWS 7 as well as with WIN XP. Hence i recommend everyone to download the ver. 1.13. Bye n have a nice time.

I flashed it to 1.16, after a while, it shows "toner exhausted change toner" and can't print anymore, cleared count, nothing. No chip inside, still the start toner, refilled though :). where is 1.18 or 1.20? couldn't find it. Thank you

I recently updated my Samsung SCX-4300 firmware (1.18) following your flash upgrade instructions. Everything went fine, I can now print and the status led is green.
There is just a small annoying problem: when I print I get 4 black random dots on the sheet right margin. Don't know what to do? Hope you guys can help me..

Hi My samsung SCX-4300 scanner does not work properly. The scanner lamp must have white light, but only blue and green colors turn on, and when lamp arrives to LETTER sign, the red and blue colors turn on. Can anyone tell me about this problem? May have it failed on scanner controller chip?

1. the message "scanner error" and red led is on top 2. when i mak flashing with sc2 sw, for fw 1.18 in cmd always downloading.... appears and on the printer "data receiving" but nothing else happens, what iswrong??

1. Download firmware v1.16 and fix from alutov's post (8/27/09 8:35 AM) (scx4300fw116.rar and scx4300_sc1.zip) 2. Extract all files in the same folder. In this example we use "c:\samsung" 3. Run cmd, change to folder with downloaded files. (Start => Execute => type "cmd". Then in the black window, type "c:", then type "cd samsung") 4. Type in cmd: "fix4300.exe SCX4300_V1.16_Fact_romdl.hd" (now the file "FIX_SCX4300_V1.16_Fact_romdl.hd" is created) 5. Set printer to Tech mode (on printer buttons quickly press "MENU" "COPY" "<" ">" "MENU" ">") 6. Set printer to recieve firmware (Press on printer buttons: "MENU", go to "Data Setup", then "Flash upgrade", then "Local") 7. Type in cmd: "usbprns2.exe FIX_SCX4300_V1.16_Fact_romdl.hd", then wait for completion. 8. On the printer, again in Tech mode, go to "Data setup", then "Clear Count", then "Clear all CNT"
For each time it says "Toner empty" you can repeat step 8, so you can print until the cartridge is empty FOR REAL.
If you have problem about samsung SCX-4300 printer at first reset it by software. which is a comand based software open the software then Type fix SCX_4300 then press Enter. after when the process compleated it will reset. then it will work until you print 2200 copies print. After that it will shows Toner Exusted Replace toner message on printer's display. It' solution is go to Printer's menu and There you will display Clear count function. by this function you will clear count your printer.

at last i found the solution for latest firware 1.18, 1.20, 1.21.. i dowgared the firmware version all(1.20,1.21) to 1.18 . And it works fine.

The best idea is to maintain this type of samsung printer desolder the software chip and connect it with Universal Programmer then erase chip's old version of software and Upgrade flash with samsung 4200 software. Your problem will be fix forever. If you have any problem contact me:

I have successfully patched the firmware previously. However, as I was doing it this time, the electricity cut off in the middle of it, and now I am stuck at "Downloading from PC". If scx4300 shows "scanner error" you must upgrade your SCX4300 with firmware 1.21 lower version 1.18.or 1.16. Version 1.21 and 1.23 are payable. If you upgrade now correct version printer will be OK. Write me pw wizart@o2.pl. I can help you
What firmware is in your SCX 4300 ? You must update actual firmware to alternate firmware, and you can reset counter SCX4300. Firmware above 1.20 are payable.
Wolf12302's solution works with 1.21 firmware!!! I tried everything else, cautious to download and start an exe file from a Chinese site. Finally, after having spent maybe 2 full days on it, I was so desperate. My virus programme said nothing so I did it - and can now print again!!!!

No, in that method in Lithuania it is firmware upade and after that no need to change chip. I think, that people here have same sollution or simillar like yours, but cheaper and with service. + they filling tonners. So I think 15usd is to big price.

If you dawngrade firmware from 1.21 1.23 to 1.18 or lower your SCX will show "scanner error" You must upgrade your SCX current firmware. I have payable version of working firmware's.

Scanner error threw after that insertion that I have unloaded? So the scanner on it checked, and the insertion is checked up. Some files can be damaged, it is necessary on íàíîâî to download,
hi, i have downloaded file scx4300fw113.zip and then poceed to further. But it is giving eror at upgrading flash and the flash is not upgrading. and the downloading does not complete.
Hi I found the solution, the firmware must be the same version as the on already installed in the printer. You can know what version installed in the printer by printing system report in tech mode . Then on the patch file named by download , just double click it. Sometimes dragging the fix file into the usb2 icon works or , just double click the download patch icon.
I had the same problem. If you have upgraded your printer firmware to 1.13, this problem raises, to solve this scanner error, you have to upgrade the firmware to 1.18 and you problem will be solved.
If you dawngrade firmware from 1.23 to 1.18 sanner in your SCX will not working. You must upgrade to 1.23 firmware FIX and your problem will be solved. I have payable vesion of this firmware. Payment by PayPal is safe for your money. I can you help. Best Regards TS
Our printer broke down over the week-end scx4300. It says always warm up, yellow light then we wait and then nothing. We brought it to samsung repair who said mother board is broken and need to replace for P4,900 ($110). I think were getting duped as we only bought this printer for P4,400 ($100) in aug 5, 2009, a little over 18 months! The worst part is we just bought a new toner cartridge for P3,200 last week ($80) and now its a fricking "we've been had" situation.

After upgrading just covered toners chip with clear tape and, reset counters and vualia, toner 100% new :D Now waitting when toner will be realyy low, I have refilling system, so interesting to test. Hi, I have version 1.23fix of the firmware and my scx4300 report it correctly ("1.23fix" and not "1.23"). Engine version is 1.01.29
After I do the "Clear all CNT" procedure, the "Toner empty" error is still here, the led is still red and the printer still does not print. When i try to print something, I just got a "Pc printing suspended" on the printer LCD and then "toner empty, substitute toner". Clearing all the settings from the normal menu (not in TECH MODE) does not work too.
Why and how can I solve this? Maybe do I need to upgade to 1.25? Does someone have it?
I cannnot downgrade to any version prior to 1.23. The printer just get stuck in the process.
@w506191201: I have the original bundled toner. I have not substituted the toner, so it should not have a chip (?) referring to the previous answers. BTW when I opened the toner to refill it there was actually a chip in the up right corner, but when I removed it the printer does not recognized the toner at all and a "no toner" apperead in the LCD. I had to reinsert the chip to make the printer recognize the toner. So it is not the chip you are referring to in this discussion (?). And if it is, can you point me to instructions on how to do what you said?
I have soft for chip reset in Samsung ML-1910 1915 ML-2525 ML-2525W, CLP-670N ND CLP-770N, ML-2855 ND ML-1660, 1665 SCX-3200, 3205, SCX 4824, 4828, ML 2580, SCX-4600,SCX-4623F,SCX-4623FN,ML-2525W, SCX 4300, CLP-310 CLP-315 and all CLX-3170/75 N i FN, ML 1640. Witt this software you can reset all chips RS3CC921. To use the program you need a programmer I2C.
To all people that have the 1.13 Firmware and haven't managed to create the FIX_SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd file:
For some reason it won't work to drag SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd onto fix4300.exe. The FIX_SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd won't be created with that procedure.
Nevertheless, the files aren't corrupt, they're OK.
Create the file via Command Line:
- open "start" then "run": Type in "cmd.exe" - the command line window opens. - change directory to the directory your unzipped firmware-files are. For example for changing drive C to F type in "F:". For changing directory type in "cd [directory-name)" for example "cd FIX4300". It might be useful to rename the folders with windows to simple names. Now type in:"fix4300.exe SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd" DON'T FORGET THE SPACE CHARACTER.
Pressing enter there should appear a text like
********************************************** * Samsung SCX4300 firmware v1.13 fix program * **********************************************
And some short hints how to proceed.
If you look now in the folder, there should appear the FIX_SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd file.
Now proceed as Alutov explained above (waaaaayyyy above).

Hi, Have had mx700 for 1-1/2 to 2yrs. Use it a lot. Use refilled cartridges from LD ink (if you know better place let me know). They have worked great for long time. Black ran low, I replaced and cartridge did not print black at all. OK, changed out 2 more (total of 3 cartridges) and no black printout at all. I did deep cleaning 3x in row and still no luck. Unplugged and re-plugged printer and no luck. I’m unemployed in bad times financially and wonder if there is a way someone knows for sure what to do with this thing – have loved the printer – and willing to try taking it apart if I have to alone, what have I got to loose at this point? I’m more handy than most, but not the queen of tech either – just midway I believe to rate myself. Is there a manual with screen shots to show me step by step? Please advise ideas which way to go. There is a simple way to avoid the cartridge error. Just pull out you cartridge from the printer, at the front you will see 4 slots were you can see the connector. Just put a tape on this and your are ready to print as long as you want. Good luck!
I used the 1.13fix and all seems to be ok. Is it better now update to a newer version? I found a scx-4300_v.1.21_905 but I'm not confidente how to update. In the zip file I found fix4300.exe, but also fix.21.bat and download21.bat. I don't know how to use it. Could someone help me?

i have done everything (chip replacement and flash upgrade) and put non-samsung ink. The printer after printing few pages show repeated PAPAER JAM 1 ; DOOR OPEN/CLOSE message - which is a BAD TONER problem as i found from internet as other things Roller and etc are all ok . SHould i change the ink again or remove some ink from the cartridge so that ink flows well??
