I have got printer working again by turning off AC supply, then holding down power button as I reconnected AC supply. It may only be a stop gap and by placing a tray under printer if ink does leak out then my desk is protected and I will buy another. Colin

I believe it will give me temporary use of my printer whilst I try to get replacement waste ink absorber, which wll hopefully solve problem altogther. thx.

I disconnected it and tripped the mechanism that allows the ink cartridges to move over. At this point I could see two small rectangular pads. Very carefully, I pried each out, cleaned them and cleaned around the area with Q-tips. I placed the two pads back in, held down the power button and reconnected the power. Try it - you have nothing to lose!
