 | Canon Pixma ip1600 Waste Ink Aborber full/replace by Phillips (8/19/08 4:10 PM) reply | + / - | My message says "the waste ink absorber is full and that I will need to replace this at a service center". First, I followed the steps to get the blinking light off of printer so I can print again and it works fine. However, I still have yet to address the waste ink aborber as I do not want ink all over my desk sometime in the future. I cannot find this waste ink absorber-the pop-up on my screen points to the area above the ink cartridges on the left side of the printer and I still cannot see any "pads" or whatever I am to be looking for. Any suggestions? Thank you.

We are having the same problem, love the printer, but don't want to travel 50 miles and pay $65. to the nearest Canon dealer to get it fixed. If you found a viable solution to this problem, I would greatly appreciate hearing about it, if you wouldn't mind sharing it with me.

Now the message said it was FULL and I can't print at all. I purchased my printer at MICRO CENTER and they do not even work on printers in any way. NOW WHAT DO I DO???
