I have a LaserJet 2200 printer that is printing black streaks on the pages. I was told by a buddy of mine to change the cartridge should fix it, but that didn't fix it. Can someone please tell me how to fix this? Or will I have to purchase a new printer?

Excess toner on the page is usually the result of a bad toner, but do a half test to confirm. Put a sheet of paper on the manual feeder and press the big button for a self test. When the back edge enters the printer, open the top cover to stop the printing and remove the toner. Look at the image below and if the defect is present it is the toner and if not it is the teflon sleeve on the fuser and then just click on the repair kits link above and go to your printer for the kit to repair that.
