How to bypass a cartridge expiration date by DMaurice (9/27/07 5:09 PM) reply + / -
The Official Response from the vendors for having a cartridge expire is: "The expiration that is implemented on Inkjet printers is designed to ensure the quality of the ink/printouts."

However we know it is to prevent users from filling their own cartridge.

I was getting the Ink-is-expired error on an HP 2000 and 2250 color inkjet printer. I could not find the battery on these printers so could not use this fix. When using a 2nd computer in the house I found I could print to the printer without a problem. After doing some research I found the drivers on the working computer was the default from what was in Windows XP. I downloaded the latest HP drivers for the two computers that could NOT print.

My fix, I changed the drivers and selected the default from XP instead of the ones downloaded. I'm printing now without the error.
