Epson Stylus CX5200 poor print quality

Epson Stylus CX5200 poor print quality by SDAYDO (1/3/07 6:04 PM) reply + / -
I have an Epson Stylus CX5200 that I bought new a few years ago. I have not had any problems with the printer until recently. The print quality has just gone downhill until I can barely make out what I am printing. The colors are wrong and very faded. Almost everything I print comes out light and pink. I also get banding. I use third party ink from printpal.com and I have tried replacing the cartridges. They are all full. I have tried selecting Head Alignment, Nozzle Check, and Head Cleaning to no avail. Should I try purchasing Epson ink or should I try a head cleaning kit with head cleaning solution to try and solve my problem? Thank you.

You will want this kit http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/kits/epson/K89

And read this page http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/duraink.html

If you did a serach you will find this is a common but easy problem.

I hope this helps,

Wes.
