HP officejet G85

Hello everyone,
My officejet G85 refuses to load the paper when I either copy or print.
It scans allright but doesn't catch the sheet as it usually does.
Curiously it prints the reports from the menu, so it doesn't seem to be a mechanical problem.
I have made full and partial resets several times but the problem lingers.
Could anyone help ??
thanking you in advance
Zimbolactus

If you explain the problem so I can understand it.

I read your post twice and don't know for sure if you have a problem with the ADF, or if it is not feeding blank sheets from the printer input tray.

Thank you for your answer.
Could you please tell me what the ADF is ?
Looking forward to reading you

ADF = automatic document feeder (the thing on top with the paper guides).

Officejet G85 Spot Sensor Lens Missing?

If you are getting a 'Paper Mismatch Remove Transparency and Replace with Plain Paper' error, the spot sensor lens may be missing. To check, the cover on the right side of the carriage will have to be removed.

Open the printer as if you are going to remove the cartridges. Wait for the carriage to appear then unplug the power. Remove the cover on the right side of the carriage. It is held in place by one T10 Torx head screw. The small printed circuit board underneath the cover should have a clear rectangular plastic lens on the bottom edge. If it is missing order HP P/N C2693-67037. Shop for the best price online.

Always remove paper jams through the rear cleanout door to avoid breaking the spot sensor.
