this printer/copier works fine with the exception of the print goes from black to gray from left to right. I have looked at the toner and drum and they seem to be fine. I cleaned the outside of the laser glass thinking that some toner dust got on it and was blocking it. but that didn't do anything to get rid of the problem, now i am lost. any help would be appreciated.
I usually start by cleaning the optics under the glass they get dirty after awhile.laser window is just above drum-slide out cartridge and look at 12:00 position.
Next is the life of the drum unit-it can look good but does wear out from just sitting.drum life is 18,000 copies
If you have any spares or can borrow one try swapping the drum and or T/D cartridge.
Also transfer corona wire on R.H. door needs cleaned or replaced occasionally-cleaner usually sits on lower frame {green handle}

We have re manufactured hundreds of these cartridges with a warranty and 90% of the copy quality issues is with the drum or toner CTG.
