 | Canon i850 Problems by Jim1945 (5/5/06 8:52 AM) reply | + / - | My i850 was going along fine and suddenly started printing with lines through graphics and anything using different colors. Nozzle Checks shows print head needs cleaning but both cleaning and deep cleaning procedure does not improve. Uneveness in several of the letter boxes (B,C,G,H,J,K,L,and M) indicate that print head needs realignment but procedure produces nothing. Sounds like print head is shot but is their anything I can try before I go this route? Thanks

 | Re: Canon i850 Problems by Mike B (5/5/06 4:46 PM) reply | + / - | Well it does sound like a printhead. They are not cheap. Usually can get at someplace like Office Max.
Before you do this however you might try the following from another post.
I was having the same problem with everything being green. Canon told me the print head needed to be replaced, but someone suggested that I physically clean the print head. I took out all the ink cartridges and soaked it in warm water until no more ink came out. Then I just set it out for a few hours to dry and now it works perfectly. Just make sure you wrap up your ink tanks so they don't dry out. I used seran wrap.
Don't know that this will work but worth a try.
Hope this helps

 | Re: Re: Canon i850 Problems by Anonymous (4/11/07 8:15 PM) reply | + / - | This is great! I did just as you said and was up and running in 15 minutes. I even lightly blow dried the printer head to expedite the process. Not only did I save myself money but time as well. It would have taken me much longer to go out and get another printer head and then come home and install it.
Thanks again!
