My epson rx500 prints on paper as normal but for some reason refuses to print onto epson photo paper either A4 or 6x4. The printer error states that there is a paper jam but I single load and I cannot see where the jam occurs. This issue has just started and previous to this I have had no problems. I have contacted epson and removed my software and reloaded and updated the drivers but to no avail. Epson are saying that it is a problem with my PC and that some software is affecting the printing. As you can imagine I'm reluctant to start removing my PC software unless all else fails. Any help will be gratefully received. Regards, Steve.
It sounds as if the pickup roller is failing to load the paper correctly. Cleaning the roller with a spray such as Platenclene will solve the problem. Paul
If you look in the paper tray on your printer you will see two pads one is cork and the other is usually green. Clean the pads with a damp cotton swab "Q-Tip" and that will usually fix the problem.
got this same message today "printer error see you documentation and call service if necessary"
In my case the "Copy" light is on and the red ! with that error. Scanning and the memory cards work fine via xp.
I tried the eeprom reset [ hold stop; color; b/w; load/eject; power. hold till the red ! flashes and press color then power] but that didn't solve the problem. I'm going to get it looked at and will post here what results of testing there are.
try the eeprom reset [ hold stop; color; b/w; load/eject; power. hold till the red ! flashes or disappear, then open the scaner lip, and wait until the cartridge stop moving.
