Sounds like the waste ink protection counter. Search in this forum & you will find many posts on how to solve this. Good Luck?! Dazz UK

Hi, Thanks hpwizard, but this is'nt the problem. When the printer is cold works perfectly. In a few minuts the printer stops and the lights bliknks. Main board, print head?? Thaks

All lights flashing is a maintenance error. If the power light is off it is a fatal error. Clean the encoder strip and clean and oil the carriage gulde shaft. Those are two very common causes for a fatal error.

The best solution for your printer is: STOP BUYING ANY EPSON PRINTERS,,,, RATHER GO FOR HP.... EPSON IS A GENERAL f%$@%@% up printer

I have a proflow ink system attached to my c86. Occasionally the printer refuses to work saying parts need replacing. I used to have a short piece of code I got from a site called the Printer Doctor in the UK. I can't find the code or the site. Anyone familiar with either?

I have this problem. Message came up saying the printer needs servicing. I have downloaded the software utility for the protection counter, but how do I get my printer to switch back on as normal without the red lights flashing?

Can anyone tell me the sequence of button pressing to get my printer to come on when the two red lights are flashing alternatively. thanks

How do I clean the encoder strip and clean and oil the carraige gulde shaft? I don't have my manual. I can't find what those parts look like on the internet.

I have reintalled my printer and it still want print from the test page site. What do I do to fix it?

I'm having the same problem. The red lights are flashing back and forth and my printer won't do anything. Any suggestions?

Instead of an HP, buy a Canon PIXMA. My C86 quit ten days after warranty and I replaced it with an iP4300. From a piece of junk to a real printing machine.

The bar I can find and clean. Can you tell me where the encoder strip is located. Cleaning the bar didn't help. Lights still flashing.

The red lights are flashing on my printer and I can't manually slide the cartridge carriage to get the ink cartridges out. Any suggestions?

Going through the trouble shoot, I found that the ink and paper lights flash when the print head cannot move freely. But there is no jam and I can manually move the head. You can push in the piece of plastic that stops it from moving with a paperclip allowing to get the ink cartridges out. I got this problem when I changed an ink cartridge. I talked with tech support and they told me it was hardware failure. And I won't pay to get it fixed so I'm stuck.

I have trouble after printing about 50 or more picturs,it just stops.Ihave tryed to rectifiy but no luck.thanks MAGA?

Seriously... i think my kid did something. The porn will not stop printing. I had to unplug the printer.

Clear the printer que. Run a virus scan. Refer to your user manual for info on clearing the printer que. Or download the manual from the Epson site.
