I use a HP deskjet 5150 that uses a #56 black cartridge and a #57 color cartridge. The printer isn't great but gets the job done in a satisfactory way. recently, it stopped working because the exp date on the color cartridge has passed !
I read several posts here where people suggested setting back the clock on the computer, resetting the computer, turning on the printer - but that didn't work (other than give me all kinds of error messages about programs that need updating urgently)
Someone else suggested removing or blocking the battery. I have not managed to find where it is or how to get to it.
If SOMEONE KNOWS HOW AND HAS DONE IT - please let me know. I need my printer urgently and all HP users should sue HP for fraud and misleading conduct and get the court to exchange all cartridges or remove the chips for free for everyone. hutzpah !
If I have to buy another printer - damn sure it won't be a HP !
