 | problem with hp laserjet 3330 by olson alleyne (9/24/05 2:17 PM) reply | + / - | I own a laserjet 3330 about 2-3 years old. It works for about an hour then it starts to make a loud grainding/grating noise. The noise lasts for about a minute or 2 and when it stops, the machine does not work anymore. A message says ...(not sure) power on power off. One has to unplug the machine and leave it for a while (half hour may be) and it will start to work again and that cycle is repeated throughout the day. If you plug it back too soon , the same message comes up and it does not work. Any help here?

It could be a toner cartridge problem, or a scanner failure, or a fan, or a motor, or....
Get the picture?

 | Re: problem with hp laserjet 3330 by Stephen (9/26/05 7:16 PM) reply | + / - | The scanner is having trouble finding it's home position.
You might be able to disassemble the scanner and clean the internal parts, glass, mirrors, etc.
The simplest thing would be to get the scanner replaced.
I would advise against taking apart the printer if you don't have a manual, unless you have extreme patience. As far as I know there are no disassembly instructions for the scanner, (bear in mind the scanner is the thing with the light on it as opposed to the Laser/Scanner which is an internal part you can't see).
