 | Phaser 8200 assembly instructions? by PB (5/16/05 7:24 AM) reply | + / - | Hi I'm trying to change pre-heater bulbs that are worn out for Phaser 8200. I have never opened this printer before. If there are instructions along with pictures it will be really helpful. Thank you PB

 | Re: Phaser 8200 assembly instructions? by rmike (5/19/05 8:37 AM) reply | + / - | I took apart a 840 Phaser to get at those bulbs and found the flimsy coppper metal brackets holding the two halogen bulbs disintegrated where it meets the bulbs (90 degree angle). Our 8200 Phaser had many different error codes all related to the heater & we bought a whole heater assembly and I was SO VERY PLEASED to see those metal brackets NOW made of a very different metal (rigid & Strong). We got it for around $220 and I believe it was worth it. A couple of pages are all that's needed from the manual to pull out the heater assembly. Cover off, remove the waste tray holders (most dif. part) & remove the belt (upper pick up roller) & clutch, then a couple screws & the heater will slide out. Let me know how tisgoes. RMIke

 | Re: Re: Phaser 8200 assembly instructions? by PB (5/23/05 8:55 AM) reply | + / - | I was able to replace the bulbs, but I think broke something on the upper pick-up (which I cannot see the broken piece ) that gives a certain paper jam where only two inches of paper move and get stuck. This is what I'm dealing with!!!!! Thanks rmike PB

 | Re: Phaser 8200 assembly instructions? by dmzcompute (5/23/05 2:24 PM) reply | + / - | PB you probably broke the sensor which is on the unit which seperates into two pieces. The only way I know to rectify this problem is to replace the complete upper feed roller assembly. You are not the first one to break it and in fact in my eary days with an 840 or 850 I broke one myself. Its because the design for that part is very bad and it is sometimes very difficult to get it back into place with the bushing on the right side.

I had mine sitting with the screws removed for a few days, I was afraid to break something trying to get those side doors off. So it was definitely a "DUH" accompanied by slapping oneself in the forhead kind of moment when I saw how simple it was.

 | Re: Re: Phaser 8200 assembly instructions? by whpbooks (4/6/07 9:59 AM) reply | + / - | My 8200 just stopped printing. It is always warming up. Even after the % listing, it goes back to warming up. I send things to printer and nothing comes out, and no messages. I also do not see the lights glowing the side anymore. Help. Thanks.
