 | Service manual for a HP PSC 750C all in one. by cascade (4/7/05 9:10 AM) reply | + / - | I've recently been given a HP PSC 750C printer/scanner/copier. Unfortunately it was stored incorrectly, resulting in ink leaking out inside.
Does any one have a service manual or any information on how to disassemble and clean one of these devices.
Thanks in advance.

Removing the scanner 1. Open the printer as if changing the ink cartridges. 2. There are two latches that limit the rotation angle of the scanner. Push them inward and the scanner will rotate to approximately 90 degrees 3. There is a small snap-on cover in center in line with the hinges. Remove it and unplug the ribbon cables. 4. Lift the scanner straight up.
Removing the case 1. Remove the upper case that is under the scanner. It is held in place T10 Torx head screws. 2. Remove the two side pieces. They can be a little tricky so patience is required. There are slots on both in the front and rear on the underside. Insert a slot style screwdriver into each slot and push toward the center of the printer. When the latch releases the associated side will rotate toward the outside of the printer. Removing each side piece is a two step process, i.e. their front and rear latches must be released before they can be removed. Avoid the temptation to slam the printer against the wall.
I suggest wearing latex gloves once you get the case off. I use a slow trickle from a garden hose to rinse the ink out of the bottom of the printer. Avoid getting water on the electronics boards, carriage, and motors (not all that hard).
Removing the Service Station 1. Unplug the connector from the carriage drive motor. 2. Unplug the connector from the main electronics board. 3. Viewed from the front, remove the red screw from right side of the service station. 4. Remove the screw in the vertical frame to the right of the carriage drive motor. 5. Remove the screw in the vertical frame to the left of the belt tensioner. 6. Looking from the top, remove the two screws going through the carriage rod. 7. The vertical frame will now hinge up and come free of mechanism. 8 Looking from the front, there is a large latch on the right side of the service station. The wiring obscures it. Using a slot style screwdriver, release the latch and the service station will rotate CCW and lift out. Unplug the motor connector to free the service station from the mechanism.
Cleaning the Service Station. 1. Remove the service station motor by removing one screw. 2. Scrap as much congealed ink as possible from the service station. 3. Soak the service station in hot water to dissolve the remaining ink. This will take a while but after a few rinsings nearly all of the ink will be removed.

 | Re: Service manual for a HP PSC 750C all in one. by Kutzburg (7/2/05 12:03 PM) reply | + / - | I have a HP PSC 750 that is showing a message " Remove black cartridge and check". Have tried the HP hard reset by pulling the power cable, then holding down the "ON" button then pligging in power cable. That has not worked. I can remove both cartridges and turn the printer off. Turn it back on, will ask for black cartridge, then color. Then I can scan and print ok. Turn power off and is screwed up again. Anyone know of a HARD reset?
Thanks!

And of course I didn't think to remove the ink cartridges and apparently when the movers picked up the printer it tilted because now there is ink leaking ..... How do I open this thing up to clean out the ink????? MDH

I received a PSC 750 printer, and it constantly has a problem with the B&W cartridge, because the sensor strip and switch are missing. this is why it constantly says: Please remove and check the black cartridge.

 | Re: Service manual for a HP PSC 750C all in one. by Bert (8/13/07 1:38 PM) reply | + / - | If you are referring to a spring-loaded vertical strip like the one in the color cartridge slot, it doesn't sense anything. It is for electrostatic discharge (ESD) and is commonly only in one slot. Cartridge presence is sensed through the electrical contacts on the cartridge and carriage.
Clean the cartridge and carriage electrical contacts with a cotton swab and alcohol. If that doesn't solve the problem the odds favor a defective cartridge. They don't have an infinite life and refilling them doesn't necessarily make them reusable. Also, make sure that the black cartridge is an HP 15.

 | Service for a HP PSC 750 all in one. by Anonymous (8/13/07 2:17 PM) reply | + / - | Thanks for the info, when I checked it further and cleaned the contacts, it worked a lot better, but I still had to take it apart to get to the carriage contacts, and I still need to get a better Black cartridge, since it does not give a constant ink flow. I will try a couple of cleaning cycles, but maybe it is time for a new one.

 | Re: Service manual for a HP PSC 750C all in one. by shadowknight (6/4/09 8:45 AM) reply | + / - | the clinking sound happens only when i print something, and the copier wont work, and when i try to copy something the printer says that there is cartrige jam. we also have a problem with getting the paperr out because the paper at the end of the faulty print comes out blank and halfway out of the printer, which we then have to yankit out slowly so we dont rip it. what is wrong with it and how do i fix it myself

Best of luck.
