It will print fine for a little while, but then it will just start printing symbols across the top of the page and will not stop until all the paper is out of the tray. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

| Re: phaser 8200 by dmzcompute  (3/29/05 3:42 PM) reply | + / - | If you are using a parallel cable I would check the cable as the issue you are having is a lose of formatting information. When you send a print job from the computer, the driver sends codes to the printer in a language it understands and formats everything so as to print everything graphically. If the printer looses these codes at some point during the job everything gets confused and you get those crazy characters. You need to check the cable, the port on the computer and last the formatter or main board on the printer. You may also want to delete and reinstall the driver. If you are using a network cable then you will want to check you network connectivity.

| Re: phaser 8200 by bhilton (3/30/05 6:07 AM) reply | + / - | I have it connected with a network cable. A few weeks ago I moved it from one office to another and reconnected it to the network and it is still doing the same thing. I'm almost 100% positive that the network connection if fine.

| Re: phaser 8200 by MattSchool (2/7/07 3:20 AM) reply | + / - | I had a similar problem with an 8500, if it had a paper out it would then print repeated sheets, alternating between the last thing printed and the page od code. This went on and on until the unit was powered off. (It is in a school and is not in a room which is occupied so often ran an entire tray of paper.)
I updated the firmware, and since it seems ok, so that is def worth a try! (fingers crossed this doesn't jinx it!!)
