nash: I just wanted to give you a pointer, in case you don't get any replies back on your posted message. As you simply tacked your HP Printer message, onto an "Epson CX6400 Message Board", the chances of someone thats actually framiliar with your particular printer, even seeing your message and being able to help you, are much less. If you were to open a NEW & SEPARATE message board, listing your printers make, model and a short description of what you are looking for, in the actual SUBJECT LINE [example: "RE: HP Photosmart 2410, need Service Manual"], you might have a better chance on getting a reply. A lot of technicians and people that help out on this "Printer Repair Site", read the actual subject line of the main message board, rather than reading each individual message. They are looking for makes & models of printers that they are actually trained on, or framiliar with. EXAMPLE: I help out on the Epson Printer problems and questions, when I can...IT'S EASY TO POST A NEW SEPARATE MESSAGE: Just go to the "fixyourownprinter.com" web-site and under MESSAGE BOARD, click-on PRINTER REPAIR FORUM. The first page will open up; scroll down to bottom of the page; in the bottom left corner is "click here to post a new message". Now you can post your new Subject Header & your printers problem...Good Luck! Denny Conway

Hi did you get this manual?

Re: Hp PSC 2410 SERVICE MANUAL by Anonymous (8/18/05 5:21 PM) reply-1 + / -
There are no service manuals for these types of printers. the only help you will get is from past experience of what other techs are experiencing and posting on the net. for example you may get an error indicating paper or other such problem - however the solution may be something completely obscure ie remove and clean the carriage and print head unit. Hope this helps

I have a Epson Stylus 6400 printer that ran out of black ink. When ink cartridge was replaced, printer indicated that ink had been replaced. When I try to print the printer acts as if it is printing but nothing is printed. I get nothing but a blank Can someone tell me what is wrong with the printer.

Epson stylus CX6400 ~ Parts End Of Their Service by swansoftware (4/29/09 6:21 PM) reply + / -
Look at this crazy error message I am getting with my Epson Stylus CX6400.

I installed IE 7.0 and I got this printer error below:

Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. See your printer documentation.

Anyone have any idea? the ink is good and I have never had a problem.
Clear on the printer does nothing and I can not cycle through any buttons to try to see a more descriptive error message....

Crazy...
Thanks,
Jay

That is a Maintenance Request Error. It means the protection counter has reached it's limit. Read here for more info http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.html

Wes, thanks it worked just fine.
Still not sure what the exact problem was but it works now.
Thanks again.

The protection counter is part of the printer logic programming. It is there to prevent the waste ink from leaking out of the printer. You can get away with resetting it a few times before you need to clean or replace the absorber pads.

Anyway the protection counter locks up the printer to prevent it from splling ink outside of the printer.
