XEROX M750 JET PRINTER

I have a xerox M750 Bubble Jet Printer which in every way is a very good printer; except for the price of cartridges and that xerox didn't produce very many of them. It is a paper pickup problem. I am not at the stage where I will give it a thump (yet!) but has anyone had the same trouble and if so, how was it solved? Many thanks Don
